More Soldier Insults: Courtesy Of Stephen King

Ensuring that the liberal torch isn't extinguished by any patriotic folks who really give a crap about our troops is today's topic. Horror author Stephen King tosses a fantastically inane insult at our men and women in uniform, John Kerry style. And we all know what happened to Kerry.

For those who wish to see the video of the aging idiot in action of opening the hole under his nose, HERE is the link. Oh, but remember, he said he didn't want to sound like a commercial or a public service ad, so that's supposed to excuse him, or make things all better. WRONG!

King has been a pretty outspoken opponent of the Iraq war since pretty darn near its inception. Fine! Great! Fantastic! That's his, or anyone in this countries right. Go ahead and be a Cindy Sheehan all you want. But pulling a Kerry-ism and debasing the very individuals who provide you that freedom, (whilst is your right to do,) is just plain out of line. Point your hatred where it belongs, at the leadership, NOT the soldier.

Here is the text of what Mr. King said; "I don't want to sound like an ad, a public service ad on TV, but the fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don't, then you've got, the Army, Iraq, I don't know, something like that. It's, it's not as bright. So, that's my little commercial for that."

It should be made known, that King made this comment during a speech he was giving in the Library of Congress. Yeah, a building full of old documents created by a bunch of old guys a couple centuries ago. Guys that also must have been a bunch of illiterates as well, since a considerable number of them FOUGHT and DIED in a war to give King his so-called rights. By the way, they ALSO volunteered back then.

I've never been an avid fan of King's books, and this episode pretty much assures that I won't ever be. Not that one person's refusal to ever read another book by HIM will make any kind of solid, tangible difference. But hey, if you truly believe in peoples rights, then it's my RIGHT to refuse to read his crap anymore. Right?
