With all the political mess we are in now, and all the crap we've been put through over the last year and a half, I need the rest, just as America needs a rest from liberals. Nancy Pelosi: Did She Just Say We Can Vote On Drilling?

Or did someone just hit me over the head with a wet sack of coconuts? 'Madame NO' seems to be succumbing to the pressure and becoming, (albeit rather slowly,) 'Madame GO'. Clearly, the ruckus being raised on the floor by Republicans who have yet to go on their five week hiatus, and the press coverage it's getting, along with the growing public outcry of "OFF with her head!" is working.

The Americans For Limited Government President Bill Wilson had said in their recent e-letter, “The Speaker of the House is surrendering to the demands of an angry public, who will no longer tolerate sky-high energy prices. And much of the credit for this turnabout belongs to House lawmakers and the nation’s opinion writers who kept the pressure on the obstructionist House Speaker. This is a tremendous breakthrough, but it does not go far enough. Now, ‘Madame No’ must allow an up-or-down vote on the American Energy Act, which is the most comprehensive solution to the energy crisis. The issue is not just about drilling—though that is critical—but it is also about lifting restrictions on building nuclear power plants, gasoline refineries, coal-to-liquid, oil shale exploration, and deregulating the energy sector so that markets may move to meet the ever-increasing demand for energy.”

Pelosi, is in full-cowering-mode. She's being challenged regularly on her highly unsuccessful book tour. Her shutting down the House without allowing an up-or-down vote on the Energy Bill Republicans have conjured is not winning her any sympathies from the 70%+ of Americans that are in favor of drilling here at home.

As found on the CNN website, Pelosi's Monday night interview with Larry King, Pelosi said about Drilling, "she would consider a vote if it were part of a larger energy package." Well, how about that. As it just so happens, that is exactly what the Republicans have waiting for her in the House this very moment. A wide sweeping energy plan that not only encompasses drilling, but alternative energies as well. Incentives for alternative fuels and all.

So get your ass back to the House and call for a vote on that larger energy package Nancy!

Of course, being the hysterical farce Speaker of the House that she is, it's not likely to come about any time soon. But at least we know that pressure works. And IS working. Now we just need to really ignite a fire under her liberal-pampered derriere and make the vote actually happen. It's not within her authority to deny elected representatives a vote. Pass or fail, the vote must be allowed.
