It's finally done and over with. The big to do, over of president-elect B. Hussein Obama's citizenship has finally been laid to rest. The dead horse a few people have been beating, has ultimately been put out of its misery. We can now, officially, ignore the rest of the hullabaloos about Obama's COLB, or the birth certificate, or what his citizenship really is. It's been vetted for all it was worth.
The Supreme Court of the United States has rejected a suit brought against Obama regarding his citizenship, that claimed he was actually of British citizenry. FactCheck.org, which occasionally screws things up, has posted images of Obama's actual, held, touched, examined, birth certificate. Hawaiian officials have done all the confirming they could possibly do in the matter.
It's done. It's over. It's no longer an issue. Period.
It's about time too, as even I, (who would love to see this socialist removed before even taking office,) was getting a bit tired of the endless diatribe.
And I do fully admit, I had my doubts about Obama's citizenship as well. And something is still kinda tugging at my skepticism string. And yes, I was part of the 'questioning the validity' crowd. Mostly because of the shoty images that had been posted that were supposed to be Obama's COLB. That's what caused the most of my distrust on the issue. Here are a couple articles I did do on the topic. (Article 1, Article 2). But, as you can see by my request in them to simply produce the original to clear the air, I kept my skepticism to just that, 'questioning.' Unlike that of Leo Donofrio whose suit was the one rejected by the SCOTUS. Or the Hillary Clinton nut job, Philip Berg who also had filed suit and was rejected.
Don't get me wrong here. I still don't support Obama by any measure. And I doubt he will accomplish anything other than extending our recession into a D-pression. Just like good 'ol Frankie Roosevelt did with his 'new plan.' And I really would prefer we had someone 'other than' Obama entering the White House next month, who actually has at least a tad bit of experience under his belt.
But I'd also prefer it was done through realistic means.
UPDATE: 1-2-2008; For those who may be wondering, yes you are correct, I haven't written anything new for a few days. I have been pondering, and decided to go through with, going on a writting sabatical for a few months. With all the political mess we are in now, and all the crap we've been put through over the last year and a half, I need the rest, just as America needs a rest from liberals. I'll c yas on the flip side. --John

The truth is that the Supreme Court did NOT “deny cert” to Leo Donofrio yesterday. The truth is the Supreme Court did NOT “turn down” Donofrio’s case yesterday. The truth is that Leo Donofrio’s case is still “PENDING” at the Supreme Court, and the court only denied the application to stay an election.
...the election that Donofrio had been trying to stay was the November 4th election (he hurriedly filed his case on November 3rd to do so).
So, it is logical that the court would, on December 8th, deny an application to stay an election that already happened on November 4th.
Donofrio’s case is still PENDING.

ORDERS IN PENDING CASES
08A407 DONOFRIO, LEO C. V. WELLS, NJ SEC. OF STATE
The application for stay addressed to Justice Thomas and referred to the Court is denied.
…
CERTIORARI DENIED
[Note the ABSENCE of Donofrio's case here]
Donofrio’s case is NOT listed under CERTIORARI DENIED.
Everyone should take another look at the order list from the SCOTUS yesterday.
Not only was Donofrio’s case NOT denied certiorari, but a third case (Cort Wrotnowski vs. Susan Bysiewicz, Connecticut Secretary of State) was referred to the Court by Justice Scalia - distributed for conference this coming Friday:
Dec 8 2008 DISTRIBUTED for Conference of December 12, 2008.
Dec 8 2008 Application (08A469) referred to the Court by Justice Scalia.
It sounds like Donofrio may have called this correctly earlier today:
On the chance that SCOTUS was looking at both my case and Cort’s case, I must stress that Cort’s case does not have the same procedural hang up that mine does. It may be that without a decision on the Judicial misconduct allegation correcting the NJ Appellate Division case file, SCOTUS might have been in the position of not being able to hear my case as it would appear that my case was not before them on the proper procedural grounds.
I did file a direct appeal under the proper NJ Court rules, but the lower Court judge refused to acknowledge that and if his fraudulent docketing was used by SCOTUS they would have a solid procedural basis to throw mine out.
Friday could turn out to be a very, very big news day.
It is not over by any stretch of the imagination. There are now by last count at least 20 lawsuits working their way through the courts.
Donofrio was rejected on Monday. Wrotnowski (who had help from Donofrio) and who has a better developed case, will have his case go to conference at the Supreme Court on Friday.
Berg's case (which takes a different angle) has yet to be dealt with by the court. There are also at least two electoral college lawsuits from California working their way up, along with many other federal and state lawsuits from many states.
The electoral college has been and will be contacted. If it gets beyond that, an effort will be made before Congress in January.
If Obama is inaugurated and hasn't proven his eligibility, there will be lawsuits filed after each law he signs, each executive order he issues and each appointment he makes to any office.
You may wish that this will go away but it will not. If he refuses to prove his constitutional eligibility to be President, this will lead to a constitutional crisis, however unfortunate that may be. The people who have brought some of these cases indicated in a press conference on Monday that they will not let this go by and they will continue until the American people have been assured that Obama is a lawful and constitutional President.
This is a crisis entirely of Obama's making and he could have cleared it up a long time ago had he wanted to do so.
Just reiterating the other comments. The SCOTUS denied hearing the motion to stay the electoral college vote - that's all. They did not (as of yet) deny hearing on the writ of cert. And there has been no decision on the Wrotnowski case yet -- nor the others that will surely quickly follow.
In addition, none of these suits have claimed that Obama is not a citizen. They simply seek to uphold the natural born citizen clause of the constitution - something Obama could prove he is very easily, yet refuses to. Why?
Inaccurate posts like this do nothing other than paint the drafters and supporters of these suits as something less than sane and rational people, when in fact they are only seeking the truth. A truth that is at the very least being blocked from view by Obama's high-priced legal team.
Or more accurately stated, just "taking the opportunity to make snide remarks.." And of course, every commentor ignores that I happened to mention that I'd love to see Obama removed. As if I'm a supporting Obam-ite or something. Don't make me laugh. It's okay though, it's not your faults you missed that.
But I do have a question for all the "trufers" that are still banking on this, that I'd like clarified;
What is it about the copy displayed on factcheck.org that is so wrong as to continue with the legal assaults on the issue? I keep hearing from the masses that, "It would be so easy for him (Obama) to verify, but he keeps hiding...or... refuses to do so.."

Please, enlighten me on this. Is there some "official seal" detail of some sort missing from those images as well? Or some other feature omitted? As far as I know, you don't get one of those unless you are in fact born here. Is it because it hasn't been put on tour, displayed in a glass case around the country the moment this issue first began to heat up?
@Lizzi,
I don't have to make those filing suit look less than anything. We Conservatives dropped the ball from day one when it came to this. The moment it became an issue, it should have been slammed from every angle immaginable. The fact is that, even if something does arrise out of this, it makes the entire party look like spoiled, didn't get our way, whiny, candy-assed jabronies, acting out in a "take my ball and go home" tantrum. We got caught with our pants down, any way you slice it. If the suit filers are looking like anything, it's of their own accord.
