It looks as if the Obamassiah minions, as well as Obama himself, are not happy when the truth about his associations are revealed. We saw his wonderful little dance when the issues about Rev. Wright were brought up. We saw the nifty little jig when the Rezko's name was made public. But it's going to require one hell of a "Dancing with the Stars" moment to make this one go away.
The thing is, it's not smear. It's not lies. It's nothing but honesty. Truth. And, as the saying goes, "the truth sometimes hurts."
I'm speaking of the American Issues Project's latest ad questioning the link between the domestic terrorist group Weather Underground member William Ayers with Obama. Ayers and his little groupies were responsible for the bombing of the Capitol Building in D.C., as well as the Pentagon and other Govt. buildings about 30 some-odd years ago. To this day, Ayers has openly claimed responsibility for the bombing and has stated, "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."
The ad goes on to question how Obama could be 'friends' with someone like Ayers, and that Obama has used such references towards Ayers as "respectable" and "mainstream." Also according to the ad, Obama kicked off his Political career at Ayers' home.
The ad, isn't even really derogatory. It doesn't say "Don't vote for Obama!" Or "Obama is a full blooded, card carrying member of the Communist Party!" Nothing like that. It simply finishes off by asking, "Do you know enough to elect Barack Obama?"
That's it.
Thousands upon thousands of e-mails have been sent to various media outlets, calling for the ad to NOT be played. But apparently some markets have played it, and continue to do so. I hear-tell there have been many threats of boycotts and such as well. This, from someone who claims to want "Change?" And yet has the audacity to give an acceptance speech on MLK Jr's 'I have a dream' speech day.
The sad part is, the Obam-ites aren't even challenging the content of the ad. What are they challenging then? Free speech! The ability for the ad to even be played. And the Obama campaign isn't stopping at that. They have already sent a second request to the department of justice calling for the investigation of one of the ads financial backers. Can't beat them, throw them in prison then?
By the way MLK Jr. was a Republican. And Obama, is no MLK Jr.
UPDATE: 1-2-2008; For those who may be wondering, yes you are correct, I haven't written anything new for a few days. I have been pondering, and decided to go through with, going on a writting sabatical for a few months. With all the political mess we are in now, and all the crap we've been put through over the last year and a half, I need the rest, just as America needs a rest from liberals. I'll c yas on the flip side. --John

Obama May Be Screwed: McCain Chooses Sarah Palin For VP Ticket
Yes, apparently the presumed 2008 GOP Presidential Candidate John McCain has chosen Alaskan Governess Sarah Palin to be his Vice Presidential running mate. Where as Obama at one time had the opportunity to secure a goodly portion of the female vote had he chose Hillary. His "feel good train" could now suffer a dramatic derailment, due to a self professed "Hockey Mom."
(I've grown a bit squeamish to using Wiki for references any more. But I figure for just general info, it's okay as for the above instance for giving some background info on Mrs. Palin.)
Additionally, per Obama's own chief strategist David Axelrod, it's unlikely Obama will see any significant bump in the polls after the DNC. Axelrod said this, despite his belief that Obama successfully laid out the stakes for November's election. And that he did draw the contrast between McCain and himself. I find it a bit amusing that McCain made a congratulatory video for Obama on winning the nomination, and Obama spends the majority of his "ascension to the throne" speech time, speaking poorly of McCain. I guess Obama believes he is entitled to a coronation ceremony.
Oh well.
But with over 25% of Hillary's supporters, standing adamantly against Obama, and another 12% or so undecided as to vote McCain, or abstain, putting Palin on his ticket could be just what the doctor ordered for McCain. A MORE Conservative figure. And as a life time member of the NRA, being very pro-life, and having flushed a bit of Alaska's corruption down the drain, I'd say Palin fits that bill. And that Demo-rat driven investigation of Palin isn't going anywhere. So that's fine and clear.
Palin's selection does lend a kind of hypocritical air to McCain's "experience" argument against Obama, since Palin only has a couple years as a Governess under her belt. But then again, hypocrisy is something we've become accustomed to very early on from Obama. Whether it be his overt lies about his liberal voting record during his short stint (a couple years) as a Senator. His friendships/ties to corrupt individuals like Rezko. Or launching his campaign from the home of a domestic terrorist leader like Ayers, that has succeeded in blowing up the U.S. Capitol building. As well as numerous Police stations.
I don't think I even need to mention Rev. Wright. I'm pretty sure we've all heard enough about that one.
But even I believe it might be a stretch to say that even though Obama is running on a platform of "Change," it really isn't too hypocritical to select a politically embedded running mate of over 30 years in Bidden. I am however, beginning to think Hussein actually means Hypocrite.

Guess What? Another Useless Tax Initiative In California
I'm guessing, that should this newest "money grab" initiative actually manage to pass, Arizona and Nevada will witness a sharp spike in their states populations. At least, before the initiative could take root. The initiative is known as the "The McCauley-Rooker Wealth Tax and Oceans Preservation Act." And yes, the bill itself is just as bad as the title alone sounds. It's basically one unpleasant Californian sushi roll, consisting of one half Socialism and one half Eco-Nazi idealism.
Here are just the first few talking points of the proposed bill;
*****
Section 2. The people of the State of California find and declare all of the following:
(a) The concentration of private wealth in the hands of the few is inconsistent with the tenets of a democratic society.
(b) Staggering sums of wealth have come to be concentrated in the hands of a tiny percentage of the population coinciding with growing poverty for tens of millions of persons, declining living standards and worsening economic security for tens of millions more.
(c) There has been, in recent decades, a massive shift in wealth and income from the poor and middle class to the rich and wealthy. The process by which the targets of this initiative acquired their wealth in the first instance was the most radical transfer of wealth in American history, and this measure is a modest attempt to redress the increasingly dangerous imbalances that this concentration of social power has created.
(d) Coincident with massive wealth transfers has been the ongoing destruction of the global environment, including the destruction of fisheries, oceans, glaciers, sea life, forests and the global ecosystem.
(e) Massive concentrations of financial power have fueled the globalization of the American economy, undermined America's traditional manufacturing, industrial and agricultural strength and substituted a class of money changers and speculators. The concentrated financial power has wholly undermined free democratic institutions, created a new breed of public office holder wholly beholden to its power and reduced America to a debtor nation and a nation of debtors.
(f) This act proposes to restore a measure of balance in wealth between persons living in California, to salvage the global ecosystem from ongoing destruction and to restore public supervision and influence over the nation's largest financial institutions.
*****
And that's right from the horse's mouth per se. You can't make crap like this up. Dig into the Act any more and you could grow sick to your stomach. If your not already ashen from the above. The TaxFoundation site has a couple tables showing what the current taxes effect are for those making X-amount, and what they would look like after a fiasco like this bill took effect.
Oh, but hold onto your hats, as this gets even better. After this bill were to be put into effect, people wanting to escape the financial ass-raping of their nest eggs, will be hit with an additional 37% tax. It's been (appropriately) named the "Hasta La Vista Tax." So start planning you move-out now. But there is an up side of this. The clown who created it, (Paul McCauley) only has about 150 days left to try and garner a further almost 700 thousand signatures to get it on the 2010 November ballot. The deadline for it is 01/02/09.
Thanks to GetLiberty.org for the "heads-up" on this travesty.

Revisiting The Illegal Immigration Issue
With the Republican hopes of victory pretty much hanging on the success of John McCain, I believe it's time to revisit the issue of illegal immigration. I bring this up as McCain was a co-sponsor of the 2007 Immigration Reform Act. Or better known as the Amnesty Bill. Fortunately, enough people found out what the bill was really about, and it was defeated.
After it's embarrassing defeat, McCain was later noted as having said something along the lines of having learned his lesson, or having heard the people's voice. Something of that nature. But I'm not sure I believe that. Hence, the reason for a "revisiting" of the issue. Oh, I'm pretty sure I'll still be voting for him (McCain) come this November, even though I don't believe he was the best choice out of the pack we had to pick from. But I think it should be said, and declared quite loudly in fact, that he will be roasted alive if he even thinks about another Amnesty program.
As I'm sure many of you have already seen, NumbersUSA Pres. Roy Beck, has been doing a presentation called "Immigration by the Numbers." Or more commonly referred to as "immigration gumballs," as the presentation involves some basic but clever visuals. NumbersUSA is one of the primary factors behind the word getting out about the McCain-Kennedy amnesty. And was probably responsible for a good portion of the couple million faxes that were sent by Americans, voicing their disapproval of the bill.
For those who have yet to see the 13-minute video in its entirety, you can view it HERE on the NumbersUSA website. Here is the text link to the video for those who may require it;
http://www.numbersusa.com/content/resources/video/recommended/immigration-numbers.html .
It should/will give you a new and much needed perspective of the problem(s) Americans face, on the issue of immigration. And why it truly is, a very important factor that requires serious consideration.

Cooling Alarmists May Be Right: Just 30 Years Too Soon
We all remember about three decades ago, that the climate warnings we got from scientists screamed "ICE AGE!" Yet, the impending doom we all faced, more or less exactly failed to arise. In a renewed attempt by governments to gain complete control of our lives, we get the impending doom of global whining. And that impending doom still has yet to materialize in any way, shape or form.
Nor will it if some of those scientists on the dissenting side are right.
As we all can attest to, we've actually seen some of our chilliest temps around the globe these last couple years. In fact, warming alarmists still refuse to concede that the globe in it's entirety, actually cooled by about 1 degree Celsius last year. I suspect the snow in Iran, or the mass freeze-wave in China did much to prop up their warming claims. I guess those incidents don't fit the highly touted computer models they designed. C'mon, we can't get accurate weather reports that reach beyond one week. Don't try and tell me you've been able to correctly plot the climates future for the next 50 years.
But the Ice Agers may not have been too far off base. Or at least, it's beginning to look that way. They were just about 30 years too soon. As found in an article titled; "Global cooling gains momentum among scientists" by Elton Robinson on the DeltaFarmPress.com page, two Russian scientists have made a $10,000 bet that the planet will cool off, rather than warm up. Pretty ballzy in my opinion. But at least, they ARE putting their money were their mouth is. Excerpts from the article;
"Russian solar physicists Galina Mashnich and Vladimir Bashkirtsev are so convinced that global temperatures will cool within the next decade they have placed a $10,000 wager with a United Kingdom scientist to prove their certainty. The criteria for the $10,000 bet will be to compare global temperatures between 1998 and 2003 with those between 2012 and 2017. The loser will pay up in 2018, according to an April 16, 2007, article in Live Science."
Other dissenting scientists and researchers are noted in Robinson's article, such as Canadian climatologist Timothy Ball who said, “If we are facing (a crisis) at all, I think it is that we are preparing for warming when it is looking like we are cooling. We are preparing for the wrong thing.” Also, On the impact of carbon dioxide on global temperature, United Kingdom astrophysicist Piers Corbyn said, “There is no evidence that carbon dioxide has ever driven or will ever drive world temperatures and climate change. Worrying about carbon dioxide is irrelevant.”
But those aren't the only ones. As found on the NRO website, is another article regarding cooling. The article, "The Next Little Ice Age" by John Craig, (original article at Milenio) lists Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico.) Herrera predicts that in about ten years the Earth will enter a "little ice age" which will last from 60 to 80 years and may be caused by the decrease in solar activity.
And now, even ICECAP is carrying a peer reviewed article regarding a climate shift reminiscent of the 1800's. "Climate Similar to the 1800s Within the Next 15 Years: First Stage of Global Cooling During 2008/09" by Meteorologist David Dilley. According to the article, Dilley utilized nearly a half million years of data linking long term gravitational cycles of the moon explain the recent global warming, rises in carbon dioxide levels, and for 2200 global warming cycles during the past half million years. Dilley also noted that; research shows a near 100 percent correlation between the PFM (Primary Forcing Mechanism) gravitational cycles to the beginning and ending of global warming cycles.
So now we're left with an imposing dilemma. Should we continue to decimate our economy on overtly flawed science used by the warming alarmists? Or as a merited Russian scientist, Oleg Sorokhitin noted, "Stock up on fur coats and felt boots!"

"Never Interrupt Your Enemies...": The DNC And Unity
Or serious lack there of. So, they've now paraded out Obama's wife Michelle, (complete with kids) because no one really 'knows' her. They've had Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy give a "Lion in Winter" speech. And Hillary 'didn't approve' of the McCain campaign ad citing her disapproval of Obama. But now she's pushing FOR him. And Obama has chosen a very pro-abortion running mate.
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
--Napoleon Bonaparte
So, I say let's follow the short little French conqueror's advice.
The Democratic party is destroying itself from within. So let's not interfere with them doing so! Obama's world tour, including a quick stop & chat, during a free rock concert in Germany, has done nothing to boost his standing on the world's stage. German media didn't react all to swooningly to it as our own media played it up to be. His "Fight the Smears" site is doing him more harm than good. Apparently, having controlling interest in a publication, be it print or web, can hurt you when you allow it to publish racist or anti-Semitic crap.
To top it off, even CNN had to conduct their own poll to get an even remotely supportive result they could use on screen, as his fan base is waning. And continues to plummet. CNN's result still showed Obama & McCain tied at 47% each. They couldn't use any of the other polling outlets like Zogby, Rasmussen or Gallup. They all have McCain ahead by 2-5%.
I guess McCain owes Paris Hilton a degree of thanks. The "wrinkly white-haired dude" it looks like, just might be paying off higher dividends than originally expected.
But the main driving force behind the continued "lack" of unity, is the die hard Clinton supporters. Shunned, abandoned, and in some respects disgraced. As per the Clinton delegate that did the 'voting for McCain' video on YouTube has been stripped of her delegate status. I don't believe affronting a party member (delegate), especially by their own party, is a particularly spectacular move. Would tend to put others ill at ease I would think.
But hey, like the short dead guy had said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

U.S. Exiting Iraq By 2011: Needs Final Iraqi Approval
So, it seems there was reason to brush of the leftist calls for timetables in Iraq. There was already a similar venture in the works that depended on the success of the surge. And, as we all know, (even Obama finally conceded) that the surge did in fact work. Iraqi Security Forces are eagerly owning up to caring for their own country. And violence continues to decrease.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Iraq's foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari, and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki yesterday, to hammer out an event horizon draft for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops by December 2011. This includes combat troops leaving in mid 2009 (expected around June.)
The draft, brokered between the political leaders of Iraq with Mrs. Rice, still requires ratification by the top Iraqi leadership, and has stipulations for the "conditions on the ground" regarding security and political progress. Iraq is due for another batch of provincial elections later this year. It also has another national election slated for 2009. But at the rate of improvement in Iraq, there shouldn't be more than the few scattered clingers-to-upheaval that we've seen over the last couple months.
There is apparently, some urgency to get something like this done soon though, as the U.N. Security Council's resolution for occupation By the U.S. in Iraq is supposed to expire this year. So an acceptance of this draft would at least set the table for U.S. forces to technically "remain" in Iraq, to finish off the job. As I mentioned above, with the gains made thus far, it shouldn't be a problem.
Not one to skip an opportunity to keep his name out there, Muqtada al-Sadr and about 500 protesters marched through eastern Baghdad calling for the security agreement to be denied. I'm actually kinda surprised he and his crowd weren't lynched. Then again, perhaps this is a sign that Iraq has progressed even further than expected. Where a "Right to Assembly," even for tards like al-Sadr, are honored.
Sec. Rice believes the deal, at least in part, will be accepted and approved by Iraq. She attributed the possibility of such an agreement to the improved security conditions to date. She had said, "I have to say, if I could just make the point, the reason we are where we are going, talking about this kind of agreement, is that the surge worked, Iraqi forces have demonstrated that they are strong and getting stronger."
Apparently, neighboring countries have been getting a little shaky over Iraq's success. To the point that they fear Iraq being used by the U.S. as a launch pad to strike other countries in the region. At the time of Rice's visit though, Iran, as well as other neighboring nations, had already been advised that this is not permissible.
So, as long as Iraq continues to move forward with their progress, I think it's a legitimate ideal to say we can start dusting off the Yellow Ribbons, for a Hero's Welcome Home in the near future.

Is Russia Pulling Out Or Not?
Now we can't even be sure. Just depends on which news source you go by I guess. I don't see it being possible to do both to the extremes that are being reported thus far. On one side, you have reports that streams of Russian armor are heading out of Georgia proper. On the other side, there are reports of Russian soldiers digging in at checkpoints they've set up. Which suggests "they" are there to stay a while.
We'll start with the reporting about pullbacks. Per the AP article found HERE, you have this opening to their article;
"IGOETI, Georgia - Russian military convoys rolled out of three key positions in Georgia and headed toward Moscow-backed separatist regions on Friday in a significant withdrawal two weeks after thousands of troops roared into the former Soviet republic."
It was followed up with this tid bit;
"In western Georgia, a column of 83 tanks, APCs and trucks hauling artillery moved away from the Senaki military base north toward the border of Georgia's breakaway Abkhazia region on Friday afternoon."
When you read the AP article, you will see there are also reports of another 40+ Russian military vehicles having departed the area around Gori, headed towards South Ossetia. As well as several checkpoints having been abandoned by Russian forces. But now the full withdrawal isn't expected to be completed for another 10 days, per "a top Russian general."
But at least they are leaving, right?
We'll, let's see what the negative reporting says. As found on the International Herald site, not only the U.S., but Germany as well, said "they had not seen clear evidence of a substantial withdrawal." Georgia says it has seen some movement by Russia, to leave. When you read the IHT article, you'll find the following comment which does support something;
"Georgia's National Security Council secretary Kakha Lomaia said Russian troops had left the key central town of Gori and were pulling back from some surrounding areas." But that was immediately followed with this comment; "But outside the Black Sea port of Poti, over 200 km (120 miles) west of the main conflict zone, a Reuters photographer saw Russian soldiers using an excavator to dig a trench at a checkpoint guarded by troops and armoured personnel carriers."
Uh? Pull backs anyone?
There's also reporting about Russian soldiers simply tossing blue helmet bands or armbands on to give the "new" appearance of being part of the peace keeping force, instead of an occupational force. Russia has also it seems, to have extended the buffer zones between both South Ossetia and Abkhazia, upwards of 30Km into Georgia.
This just gets lovelier all the time.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D) IndyMac Failure Probe?
Heck. Why not? We're investigating and probing and questioning just about everyone else in the House these days. Why not go ahead and throw Schumer's name on the "to do" list. And apparently, some one actually is 'looking over' this possibility. The California Attorney General, Jerry Brown.
As found on the Reuters site, Fifty-one former employees of IndyMac are of the belief that a letter written by Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer back in June to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC), was considered confidential information. Thereby 'triggering' the bank's collapse.
It leads one to wonder as well, since (D) Schumer chairs the Joint Economic Committee, would this be considered in a way, some form of 'insider trading' of a sorts? I'm also beginning to ponder, how many 'friends' he might have let know about IndyMac before he sent off the letter.
The letter by the former employees to Atty. Gen. Brown stated, "From the day (Schumer's) letter was made public on June 26 until the closure of the bank, a run on the bank took place and the failure became inevitable." IndyMac lost around $1.3 billion in eleven days before it was taken over by the FDIC. The OTS Director, John Reich also believes (D) Schumer's letter is to blame.
Atty. Gen. Brown's spokeswoman said the office was reviewing the letter and that a decision whether to move forward or not may come as early as next week. But since IndyMac could be deemed as one of those mortgage companies that wasn't exactly 'tight' on their lending practices, I'm also considering that perhaps they might have tanked anyways. With the housing bubble in the process of bursting like it was.
Time will tell.

Knoxville Tennessee School Shooting Victim Dead
Which is sad news indeed. Our prayers go out to the family of the victim. Little is known still of the details regarding this mornings shooting at Central High School in Knoxville Tennessee. So I'll simply pass on what little information there is available thus far.
At shortly after 8:00 AM (Local time) the suspect entered the cafeteria of Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. The suspect withdrew a firearm from his backpack and shot another student. The suspect then turned and walked away from the scene. The school was placed under immediate lock down. No other students, nor faculty, were injured in the incident.
About six minutes later, local Police detained the/a suspect a short distance away from the school. The/a firearm was recovered from the suspect. The victim was transferred to the local hospital. His condition at the time of transfer was unknown.
As of this writing, the names of either the victim or suspect have been released. Knox County School System Superintendent Bill McIntyre did confirm that both the suspect and victim did know each other. The victim did in fact die shortly there after at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Chief Deputy Bill Roehl was quoted as having said, "This wasn't a shooting that was a random act, it was an individual directing his aggression toward another individual, not the school or the students inside the school."
The school intended to bus students by class, to a local church to be picked up by parents. What little else so far is available can be found at the AP and CNN. I'm sure a number of other news agencies as well have similar releases.
There has been no release or announcements yet found on either the CHS web page, or the Knox County School Systems page. I believe there probably will be soon.
Another sad aspect of this terrible incident, is that the anti-gun lobby, who really cares zilch for the victim, or his family, will parade this incident as "just another statistic" for their own ends. Just like we saw on day one after the Virginia Tech shootings.

US Energy Independence: Not A Complete Fallacy
But according to Cato Institute senior fellow Jerry Taylor, it's also not a realistic option either. Taylor brings to light in his article titled "Energy independence won't help us," that much of the reasoning behind 'energy independence' really doesn't hold water. Both for oil, or alternatives like biofuels.
And after reading through his musings, he does make some sense.
I'm sure you'll read Mr. Taylor's full article yourself, but I'll post a few example snippets here anyways to get the ball rolling. Taylor mentioned how reliance on a biofuel is subject to weather. And that would be true. One severe drought, OR flooding (as we recently witnessed the midwest get hit with,) and how much biofuel production is instantly destroyed? And for how long?
Same goes for oil, should we begin making real use of our own resources. Near shore refineries and rigs become subject to reduced or completely halted processing in the event of a serious hurricane. Consider also the angle of global market values. If America is pulling up a good several million extra barrels of oil a day from it's own tank, and China is willing to pay $200 a barrel, who is the oil going to go to? (This is when the loony left will actually have some ground to stand on when they whine about oil profits.)
Taylor didn't speak much on wind, but I'll mention it. How well do you think an expanse of those giant propellers will do during an, albeit rare, category F5 tornado? Look over the different categories HERE. An F5 (or violent) tornado, has the potential to last upwards of one hour. I'm not sure there would be all that many windmills left in a region in operable condition after something like that.
Sorry Pickens. I like your overall energy idea. But I'm seeing a few scary holes in it. Holes the size of a 100 foot rotor blade will cut if torn off.
So, what then shall we do? Keep buying upwards of $700 billion in oil from overseas?
No. We don't. But we also don't continue to drive ourselves towards something that really isn't in our best interest. We continue to move "towards" energy independence, while at the same time, keep reality in the forefront. But in order for that to happen, we need to the Government to get out of the way. The excessive restriction and regulation by government has put us in this hole. Let ingenuity and progress get us out of it, like it's always been capable of doing.

More Cultural Jihad Crap: Preemptive Removal Of Defamation
I hear tell, that there was a book slated to be released soon by an American author named Sherry Jones entitled the Jewel Of Medina. It was to be published by US Random House. It was to be centered around the youngest of Muhammad's wives. Aisha, who was married to Muhammad at age six, and consummated at age nine.
Surely, it was a book that would have inspired mass rioting by islamic factions, such as Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses, the Danish published Muhammad Cartoons and Geert Wilders' Fitna together could not have hoped to equal.
I say WAS, as it only took one individuals complaint, to sink the book before ever being released. So we'll never know if this will have happened.
Cultural Jihad. The self-censored life we are rapidly moving into, where we can say nothing that may offend or defame islam. It's fine for a book like the Da Vinci Code to be published. Or a crucifix sunk in a jar of urine to be called art. Even claims of the Holocaust never having happened is apparently okay. But a single reviewers complaint of “a declaration of war... explosive stuff... a national security issue” as found in an online article, is enough to quell the possibility of a book ever being released.
A sad commentary in and of itself.
So Random House, as well as a few other Publishers turned tail and fled, citing "might be offensive to some in the Muslim community.” So? And “could incite acts of violence by a small, radical segment." So what?
The article? "A festival of grovelling to terrorists" by Mick Hume, published in the Times Online UK on August 12, 2008. It accurately spells out, exactly what we here in America are currently in the midst of. And what a sizable portion of Europe has already succumbed to. The systematic denial of any anti-islamic rhetoric. What's worse, the complainant wasn't even a muslim, but an associate professor of Islamic history at the University of Texas.
Hume brings to light the lack of need for "book burners," if we are so eager to please everyone that we'll simply deny a book to ever being written in the first place. He continues on to mention a number of screenplays as well that will never see the light of day thanks to the self-censorism that befell the Jewel of Medina.
For a self described Libertarian Marxist, the guy actually is spot-on in his analysis of the situation. I recommend a read of his article.

Senator Patricia Wiggins To Pastor: Your Arguments Are BS!
Way to let everyone know exactly what you and the "Green Agenda" thinks about the common, even poor citizens of California, Senator Wiggins. I am just soooo proud of you. It's nice to see that our "elected" officials are soooo concerned for the welfare of their constituency. I am honored to have you represent my state.
I'm guessing most of you are noting the deep sarcasm here.
Personally, I believe this ho needs to be shipped overseas to Singapore to be caned. A few times. Or more. Until she realizes she is NOT the Queen-Bee Duchess of Bolsa Torre. But an elected official, responsible to the concerns of the populace she represents. And not the fascist agendas of radical nazi-like environmentalists.
What in the heck was this tramp thinking when she tells a Pastor, politely voicing a legitimate concern, that she thinks his arguments are Bull$#!T..? Is that how we are to expect our politicians to treat people now, when they bring a problem to their attention? That's eerily reminiscent of the "thumbs up/ thumbs down" of a Caesar in ancient Rome. All that was missing was the Praetorian Guard dragging Reverend Jones out of the chamber, to be tossed to the lions.
Doubt me? Take a look at the video on YouTube of the incident. I don't think it was possible for this Sacramento Pastor to have been more polite in voicing those concerns. And the sad part was, the Pastor had both good intentions and even better ideas regarding the subject at hand. I suppose it's a good thing in a way, that it was a Pastor she used that tone with, and not a "common" man. As I'm sure an average joe would have buried Sen. Wiggins' microphone so deep in her butt, she'd conduct a sound test every time she sneezed.
But in retrospect, all of this pales in comparison to what is really behind all this. Accurately identified by the ALG.org site, "Arrogant, dictatorial, abusive. This is the face of left-wing government. And, it shows that the so-called Climate change freaks are out for one thing and one thing only, complete control of the economy and people’s lives."

Might As Well Face It Georgia: You're Being Annexed
So, the international community has gotten both Russia and Georgia to sign a cease-fire. A peace treaty of sorts. Requiring both sides military's to return to pre-aggression status. Russia back into South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and Georgian forces back into Georgia proper. Okay, great. Now what?
Now,... nothing.
Scattered and unconfirmed reports say that 'a few' Russian personnel carries, unladen with troops were seen heading back into Russia from South Ossetia. But even more reports, also not independently confirmed, have been seen moving from areas around Gori and the like, heading TOWARDS the area around Tbilisi. There have also been reports, also, also, still not independently confirmed, (which there seems to be a lot of during this war) of Russian SS-21 missile launchers having been moved into South Ossetia. SS-21's range would allow them to effectively strike Tbilisi itself. Russian officials have denied this has happened.
But what of the Cease-fire agreement?
What of it? is basically what Russia has said of it. They've been exploiting a loophole in the agreement that there was 'no set withdrawal date' in the agreement. Russian officials have advised that they are in fact, withdrawing their troops. But that has yet to be seen on the scale that they entered the region. Let alone noticed by the Georgian people themselves.
Medvedev has spent some time on a parade ground recently, pinning some medals on about 30 Russian troops and Officers. While at the same time, there are a reported 140 thousand or so Georgian refugees from Tbilisi alone. In just a general perspective, that kinda makes the five to ten thousand South Ossetia refugees fleeing into Russia at the start of all this, pale a bit in comparison.
So far, six U.S. aide flights have arrived in Georgia to assist those refugees. An untold amount from other countries as well, has also made their way to Georgia. But until we have a full withdrawal, by both parties, there is little else that can really be done to patch things up.
For now, the majority of the information that we've thus far received from the region, HAS TO BE taken with a grain of salt. There really is no way to determine the specifics of the engagement, without having objective reporting. And since even media personnel have been targeted in the region, it's not likely that 'objectivity' will reign supreme.
There's some more details to date, available from the AP wire.

E-Mail: Beware Charismatic Men Who Preach 'Change'
On occasion, I've had the opportunity to post either humorous, or thought provoking E-mail's as a blog post. Usually, they are either just unattributed, random thoughts by this or that person. Or a letter to an editor that can rarely, (if ever) be accounted for in it's origins or basis. But occasionally, I get to post one, that is both accountable to a person, and has a verifiable foundation, of actually being published.
And at the same time, is thought provoking. To say the least. The E-mail is in a "Letter to the Editor" style, and was published in both the Richmond Times, and the inRich.com site. The letter is attributed to a Manuel Alvarez Jr. of Sandy Hook, Va. So you can blame him if you don't like it. I'll just tell you to take a flyin' leap and don't read it again if you don't like it.
So without further ado, Mr. Alvarez Jr.'s article/letter;
Beware Charismatic Men Who Preach 'Change'
Editor, Times-Dispatch:
Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my independence day and on July 4 I celebrate America's. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.
On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba and a few months later I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.
I've thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, and they were right. So when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.
When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said "Praise the Lord." And when the young leader said, "I will be for change and I'll bring you change," everyone yelled, "Viva Fidel!"
But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent the people's guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I'm back to the beginning of my story.
Luckily, we would never fall in America for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America?
Would we?
Manuel Alvarez Jr. Sandy Hook.
Well spoken Mr. Alvarez, well spoken. Unfortunately, there are a few million mindless minions who ignore the vagueness with which a current young charismatic hopeful speaks.

Media Keeps Forgeting The (D)'s: Never Forgets The (R)'s
Not that it shocks anyone anymore. But when an industries faltering favorablity with the public is outmatched only by Congress' failures, you'd think they'd at least TRY to live up to their varying motto's on "Fair & Balanced." Ah, but there in lies the rub. The word THINK. Something that the media is either incapable of, or unwilling to do.
Which would account for their pathetic ratings over the last couple years.
Case in point, the rare and sporadic coverage of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the text messaging scandal. And his assault charges. And his bond violation.... On the odd occasion that there is any reporting done on this at all, there is always something missing. That big, party-descriptive, (D) by the suspects name.
There seems to be no loss of highly detailed reporting ability whenever an (R), is involved. For example, the recent indictment of Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens. The "Fair & Balanced" brigades are all to happy to make sure we all know he is a (R)epublican and/or how long he has been serving.
Strange how that works, isn't it.
Another recent 'forgetful' example is New York Congressman Charlie Rangel. There's been almost no visual media coverage of this guy, and what he was doing. Yet, the few reports there have been, sure enough, forgot to mention his party affiliation. By the way, it was a (D) also.
Thankfully, the public is smarter than the media believes them to be. To the point that people, 55% of them to be exact, now see media bias as an even bigger problem than campaign financing. That's according to a Rassmusen Report, and not some random statistical number generated by myself.
Folks are just tired of being fed shovels full of crap. Report the FACTS, and leave your personal, left-winged, uber-biased, agendas out of it for Pete's sake. It's crap like this that almost makes a very itty bitty part of me FAVOR having the Fairness Doctrine reimposed. But then, it truly would become "State Run" media, wouldn't it.

Nancy Pelosi: Did She Just Say We Can Vote On Drilling?
Or did someone just hit me over the head with a wet sack of coconuts? 'Madame NO' seems to be succumbing to the pressure and becoming, (albeit rather slowly,) 'Madame GO'. Clearly, the ruckus being raised on the floor by Republicans who have yet to go on their five week hiatus, and the press coverage it's getting, along with the growing public outcry of "OFF with her head!" is working.
The Americans For Limited Government President Bill Wilson had said in their recent e-letter, “The Speaker of the House is surrendering to the demands of an angry public, who will no longer tolerate sky-high energy prices. And much of the credit for this turnabout belongs to House lawmakers and the nation’s opinion writers who kept the pressure on the obstructionist House Speaker. This is a tremendous breakthrough, but it does not go far enough. Now, ‘Madame No’ must allow an up-or-down vote on the American Energy Act, which is the most comprehensive solution to the energy crisis. The issue is not just about drilling—though that is critical—but it is also about lifting restrictions on building nuclear power plants, gasoline refineries, coal-to-liquid, oil shale exploration, and deregulating the energy sector so that markets may move to meet the ever-increasing demand for energy.”
Pelosi, is in full-cowering-mode. She's being challenged regularly on her highly unsuccessful book tour. Her shutting down the House without allowing an up-or-down vote on the Energy Bill Republicans have conjured is not winning her any sympathies from the 70%+ of Americans that are in favor of drilling here at home.
As found on the CNN website, Pelosi's Monday night interview with Larry King, Pelosi said about Drilling, "she would consider a vote if it were part of a larger energy package." Well, how about that. As it just so happens, that is exactly what the Republicans have waiting for her in the House this very moment. A wide sweeping energy plan that not only encompasses drilling, but alternative energies as well. Incentives for alternative fuels and all.
So get your ass back to the House and call for a vote on that larger energy package Nancy!
Of course, being the hysterical farce Speaker of the House that she is, it's not likely to come about any time soon. But at least we know that pressure works. And IS working. Now we just need to really ignite a fire under her liberal-pampered derriere and make the vote actually happen. It's not within her authority to deny elected representatives a vote. Pass or fail, the vote must be allowed.

Russian Invasion Continues: Echos From The Past
A past that I dared not utter aloud, as I continued to hope against hope, that what I was seeing wasn't going to lead into what I was sure would happen. But Dick Morris on Newsmax has said aloud, exactly what I was thinking. And further AP news reports have confirmed it. That just like Hitler's invasion into Sudetenland in 1938 for the good of it's citizens, Russia is in Georgia.
Excerpt taken from Dick Morris' article;
On Oct. 3, 1938, Adolf Hitler's armies marched into Sudetenland, a part of Czechoslovakia. Germany said it was responding to separatist demands from the large German population that lived there and that she was merely honoring their desire for reunion with Germany.
Hitler's tanks took over a vital part of an independent country that had largely rejected his overtures and allied itself with the West. Neither Britain nor France nor the United States did a thing to stop him.
On Aug. 7, 2008, Vladimir Putin's armies marched into South Ossetia, a part of Georgia. Russia said it was responding to separatist demands from the large Russian population that lived there and that she was merely honoring their desire for reunion with Russia.
Putin's tanks took over a vital part of an independent country that had largely rejected his overtures and allied itself with the West. Neither Britain nor France nor the United States did a thing to stop him.
Encouraged by his occupation of Sudetenland, Hitler continued his designs on Czechoslovakia itself and invaded the rest of the nation a few months later.
Will history continue to repeat itself?
Only time will tell. How much time, is yet to be determined.
Despite a signed cease fire having been sent to Moscow, Russia continues to press forward further into Georgian territory. Russian troops and/or Abkhazia separatists have thus far captured the towns of Gori, Senaki, Zugdidi and Kurga, despite a top Russian general's claim earlier Monday that Russia had no plans to enter Georgian territory.
There have been reports of Russian air strikes hitting the civilian airport in Tbilisi. And unconfirmed civilian body counts in South Ossetia in excess of 2,000 dead. Air strikes have also been carried out against Georgia's oil sites and factories far from the conflict zone. And with the capture of Gori, which according to maps, sits on the countries only East-West highway, Russia has the potential to now cut Georgia in half.
History is in fact, repeating itself. But this time, will it be allowed to play itself out? Or will it be dealt with?

Hour Of Power: Walter Moore And Jamiel's Law
In a bid for both Mayor of Los Angeles, and to remove the stain of being a "Sanctuary City," Mayoral Candidate Walter Moore will be holding an "Hour Of Power" on August 16th. There will be multiple locations throughout Los Angeles were petition signatures are being collected in an attempt to get "Jamiel's Law" put on the ballot for the populace to vote on directly.
As of this writing, they are looking to collect just shy of 74,000 signatures.
Considering how many lives are affected on a daily basis by gang activity (gang members of which are here in the U.S. illegally) in Los Angeles, that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. What Jamiel's Law essentially does is end Special Order 40 and require people in jail to be asked about immigration status and deported if in the country illegally.
Here is more on Jamiel's Law.
The petition drive will be as I mentioned above, held on August 16th, between the hours of Noon and 1:00 PM (PST) and found at eighteen different locations throughout the county. The locations are as follows;
Chatsworth - Chatsworth Park on Devonshire: 22360 Devonshire Street (past Topanga Canyon Blvd.) Chatsworth, CA 91311.
Fairfax District - on Fairfax in front of Canters Restaurant, 419 N. Fairfax Ave.
Granada Hills - there are 2 locations:
Corner of San Fernando Mission and White Oak Ave (under a canopy with signs)
Corner of Chatsworth Street and Zelzah Ave in Granada Hills by the "Welcome to Granada Hills" sign.
Hollywood - Gelson's on Franklin and Bronson.
Los Angeles - U.S. Post Office, 11304 Chandler Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601 (between Lankershim and Tujunga, just West of the Metro Station).
Northridge - Southwest Corner of Devonshire and Balboa (Ralphs parking lot).
Reseda - West Valley Park, 6731 Wilbur Ave. Corner of Wilbur and Vanowen, next to the Police Station.
San Pedro - Location to be announced.
Sunland - Sunland Park 8640 Fenwick St. Sunland CA 91040, near the Senior Citizen Center building.
Sylmar - Sylmar Library, 14561 Polk Street, Sylmar CA 91342 corner of Polk and Glenoaks.
Toluca Lake - Trader Joe's (on the sidewalk) Riverside Drive.
Venice - Abbot Kinney Memorial Branch Library, 501 S. Venice Blvd., Venice CA 90291.
Westchester - Entrance to the Westchester - Loyola Branch Library, 7114 Manchester Ave., Los Angeles 90045.
Woodland Hills - 2 locations:
Orange Line Station at Winnetka and Victory
Ralphs, 20060 Ventura Blvd. Woodland Hills CA 91364
And being a gang member does NOT count as a job that no one else wants to do. So get over using that tired, lame, worn out excuse.

Tyson Foods: It's Back On The Menu
During recent negotiations between Tyson Foods, Inc., Shelbyville, Tennessee plant and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) a rather disconcerting agreement had been reached. An agreement entered into their new five year contract, to remove Labor Day as a paid holiday. In its place, employees would receive Eid al-Fitr, a muslim holiday, as a paid vacation day.
As you can imagine, that just didn't sit well with many Americans. But you probably guessed that already.
So many in fact, that the flood of complaints of outrage and "won't buy their products anymore," swamped Tyson Foods to the point that they stopped taking calls. Instead, Tyson Foods began forwarding the calls to their customer service lines Voice Mail center.
Score one for America against Sharia!
So here's some of the basics about this change;
As it stands, apparently it wasn't only OUTSIDE influence against this union measure. A number of employees themselves had expressed concern over the change as well. The Shelbyville plant employs approximately 1,200 people. About 1,000 fall under the Union agreement. Tyson Foods requested the Union re-open negotiations over the new measure regarding paid holidays, based on both internal and external pressure. The Union agreed to do so.
The measure to reinstate Labor Day as the paid holiday was voted for overwhelmingly. Tyson Foods Shelbyville plant ONLY will have nine paid holidays this year. The remaining four years of the five year contract will be as follows; New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and a Personal Holiday, which could either be the employee’s birthday, Eid al-Fitr or another day requested and approved by their supervisor. That personal day I suppose is what most of us would consider a "Floating Holiday."
With this change in Tyson Foods' agreement with the union, (which no doubt many other companies were paying attention to,) I believe it safe to say that public approval is called for. A return to purchasing their products as a show of gratitude for maintaining an American Heritage.
Here's some more from the ACT for America site.

When Paris Hilton Is Dead Right...
Something, somewhere, must be dead wrong... I can't explain it any other way. Usually, as regular readers here can attest to, I try to avoid speaking on celebrities, unless they open the holes under their noses to speak on politics. And usually, as can also be attested to, what I have to say about them is not good. But then there's the rare occasion...
Where I actually have the distinct honor and pleasure to let the world know that not all celebrities are created equal. And occasionally, they say or do something that is so far off the wall from what we would expect from them, that it MAKES DEAD SENSE.
The case in point is the Paris Hilton spoof video response to John McCain's ad. McCain's ad pretty accurately described Obama, as being more of a celebrity than an actual politician. And questioned Obama's ability to lead. McCain's ad was comparing Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton as irresponsible celebs. Not to be outdone, "The Paris Strikes Back..." (Pardon the movie title adapted pun.)
To be honest, I suppose Paris Hilton had the option of fully blasting into McCain for his comparison in his ad. And I admit that, that's exactly what I had expected when I first heard of the rebuttal video. Especially after Paris' mom had donated like $4,500.00 or some such to McCain's campaign.
I don't personally place Paris Hilton in the upper echelons of brilliance mind you. More like the sharpness of a bowling ball to be exact. But my lord, the girl had the razor edged finesse of a master samurai swordsman of humor (and some truth) in her spoof vid. And she simply referred to McCain as the old wrinkly white-haired guy, when she probably could have said much, much worse.
But the part that got me was (and here's the bit of truth part) "Her energy plan." A reasonably laid out direction, which pretty much echoed what the majority of Republicans have been saying for years. That we should be drilling now, and moving to feasible alternatives as they emerge. Incentives and such included.
Does that mean Paris Hilton is a Republican? Or at least partially-Republican?
Who knows...
But I do know this. I must give credit where credit is due. So to Mrs. Paris Hilton, on this move, I salute you.

Iraq's Four Year Budget Surplus: Upwards of $80 Billion
A recent US audit of Iraq's four year budget, shows it will close in a major surplus. A surplus so sizable, that it has gained some notable attention. Between 2005 and 2008, the Iraqi government is expected to finish upwards of $80 Billion in the black. Which is leading Congressional Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to show some concern. That concern is to why, US taxpayers are still footing the reconstruction bill.
From initial estimates of the audit, Iraq had amassed a roughly $29-$30 Billion surplus between 2005 and 2007. With the high cost of oil planet-wide these days, they are expected to take in between $40-$50 Billion in 2008 alone. This being attributed to over 90% of Iraq's revenues being generated by oil.
I'd have to say, the noise amongst Lawmakers is rightly deserved in my opinion. Which is unusual for me to agree with anything the Dem's make noise about. Who would have figured they'd ever be capable of generating a legitimate concern, that I would agree with? As to date, the majority of reconstruction in Iraq "has been" US taxpayer funded. And since we only get a portion of the full report on TV, thanks to our fair & balanced media, this news is likely to make a lot of people unhappy.
Would have been nice if the media at least mentioned as an aside, that Iraq DID SPEND about 80% of the initial $29-30 Billion on operating costs, salaries, etc, during their broadcasts. So people would know Iraq isn't like completely "hoarding" the money. It's just not being completely burned up, when more should be spent by them on their own reconstruction.
It is a legitimate concern/complaint, and is being addressed according to the US Treasury Department. Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary Andy Baukol had said, "The report shows Iraq's budget surplus is likely to grow significantly over the course of 2008, but it is equally important to realize that spending in Iraq is also increasing," noting that Iraq is moving towards putting more of its revenues to use. Baukol referred to a recent supplemental budget, submitted just last month by al-Maliki's government of about $22 Billion. It also included about $8 Billion in capital expenditures.
So Iraq IS spending it's own money. But for a considerable portion of America, it's just not moving fast enough for their tastes. And that would be a fair assessment. But at the rate that Iraq is progressing, they could potentially be the next U.A.E., when it comes to spending within its own borders.

Exxon Profits Vindication: What The Media/Congress ISN'T Telling You
If too many people see these numbers, Glenn Beck's joking ideal of "pitchforks and torches" could become a reality. Or what would be more accurately described as, Congress and the media's worst nightmare coming to life. We've all heard the rants, over and over from Reid and Pelosi of how Big Oil is EVIL. We've all witnessed the "Record Profits!" banners splashed across the news screens.
But it looks as if our "fair & balanced" media, (and the Dem's they've been supporting,) haven't quite been telling us everything we should be told when it comes to Exxon's "Record Profits."
Author Mark J. Perry writing for the istockanalyst.com site, brings some much needed light to the issue that is certain groups' bias regarding oil companies. In his article entitled, Exxon's Record Capital and Exploration Spending published yesterday (Aug. 2nd, 2008) a very different story is told regarding dollar amounts.
Oh, the "evil capitalists record profits" are still there to be sure. He didn't leave that out. Not by a long shot, as they are important for the comparison he provides. But how much Exxon spent just on TAXES, is there too. Along with how much they have spent this year on exploration. Kind of explains the measly few billion they get over that ten year span that Congress was so eager to take away from them doesn't it.
Here's a brief summary of the numbers for those who are too timid to look over the charts. YES!, Exxon took in about $22.5 billion so far this year in profits. This is indisputable. This is the record, and the number Congress and the media lackeys want you to focus on. The numbers they don't want you to hear about are as follows. $20 billion and $12.5 billion.
$20 billion, that's a pretty sizable number isn't it? What is that? Exxon's secret offshore accounts profit? (I'm sure Exxon wishes it was.) But no actually, that's the amount Exxon has paid in TAXES this year alone. $12.5 billion, that's a pretty big number too. Yes, it is. That's how much Exxon has paid in Capital expenditures and Exploration. Which is also, in just this year alone.
All totalled out, Exxon has SPENT, almost a full one third more than it has taken in this year. How are those "Record Profit" broadcasts looking to you all now?
Go to the istockanalyst.com site and read the article there, along with the attached data tables as well. It might give you cause to start looking for that pitchfork you've been keeping stored away. For just such an emergency that is.

One Third Of Muslim Students Approve Killing For Islam
At least, that was what they just discovered in England. The tired excuse of poverty, ignorance or oppression is what creates jihadi's, doesn't look to be all that valid any more. As the students surveyed were in some of the more prestigious Universities in England.
Cambridge, Queen Mary, Exeter, are but a few that come to mind from the list of Universities surveyed.
YouGov conducted the poll for the Center for Social Cohesion. And the results came out rather embarrassing for those making the claim that there is no radicalism in British Universities. Here is the actual data from YouGov. Here is the overall breakdown from CFSC. The study included about 1,400 students. 600+ were muslim. 800+ were non-muslim, which should have brought the curve down a bit, but didn't.
Here are just a few of the poll's findings. Ending (Notes) are my own additions;
--Just under a third of Muslim students polled (32%) said killing in the name of religion can be justified. But, 60% of active members of campus Islamic societies said killing in the name of religion can be justified. (Nice. Sucks to be an Infidel I guess.)
--A minority (6%) said that apostates (those who leave islam) should be "punished in accordance with Sharia." (Thankfully.)
--A third (33%) of Muslim students polled supported the introduction of a worldwide Caliphate based on Sharia law. A majority (58%) of active members of campus Islamic Societies supported this idea. (So I guess they are for the recent U.N. resolution put forth by the OIC?)
--8% of Muslim students agree that "Most of my friends at university are Muslim because I have more in common with them than I do with non-Muslims". However, this rises to 25% when active members of campus Islamic Societies are asked. (Note this statistic, as it is important later.)
--Male Muslim students were the most likely to be intolerant of homosexuality: male Muslim respondents (32%) were much more likely than female Muslim respondents (19%) to have little or no respect for homosexuals. (Explains Ahmadinejad's comments then about "there are no gays in Iran.")
-- Almost one in fifteen (7%) Muslim students polled said they had not very much or no respect at all for Jews. Four out of five (79%) Muslim students polled, however, said they respected
Jews. (This one shocked me a bit I'll admit.)
I recommend perusing both the data page as well as the breakdown to get the full impact of the poll. As for the stat above to "note this.." here is why. Anthony Glees, professor of security and intelligence studies at Buckingham University had said, "The finding that a large number of students think it is okay to kill in the name of religion is alarming. There is a wide cultural divide between Muslim and non-Muslim students. The solution is to stop talking about celebrating diversity and focus on integration and assimilation."
Huzzah! Professor Glees, Huzzah! Down with diversity. Up with Integration and Assimilation. Something we could use a bit of here in the USA. And while were at it, can we reinstate the ORIGINAL meaning of Tolerance? Not this namby pamby missused version we have now.
