Yes! Finally! A good enough margin of Representatives in Washington D.C. still have some semblance of intelligence left. Well, at least enough intelligence to say NO to something that was worse than the alternative. Put the taxpayer on the hook for oodles bad debt with non-existent funds, or just let the bubble finish bursting. It will clean itself up afterwards.
Oh, the horror that's coming. Oh, the impending financial doom we face. (Dripping sarcasm there.) Yeah, things will be pretty tough for a bit. But guess what? Crap like that happens! Especially when you have decades of over-regulation. Forcing companies to assume bad debt. And penalizing the hell out of them if they don't take the debt.
Thanks Obama, for those lawsuits against Citi. I'm sure they appreciate you lots now for that. There's a video in a link further down that shows his participation in this fiasco.
All this time, the media pronounced it would be a "nail-biter" vote. It would be sooooo close. Really? 228 against to 205 for, is not exactly what I'd call a seat of the pants, skin of the teeth result. In fact, that sounds like a considerable number of Representatives have finally begun to do something we've been wanting from them for some time. To LISTEN to their constituency.
Amazing how that works, eh?
Seems there was a considerable bit of finger pointing that went on right after this travesty was defeated too. Most of which rest squarely (as it usually and rightfully belongs) on Madame NO! She gave a beautifully crafted, patriotic speech, (which means 110% partisan) about how this whole mess was created by, you guessed it, "Bush's failed policies!" House Minority Leader John Boehner said afterwards that Pelosi's words "poisoned our conference, caused a number of members that we thought we could get, to go south."
And of course good 'ol Mr. Barney Frank (D-Mass) himself had a few words to say about that. His scoffing words were, "Well if that stopped people from voting, then shame on them," he said. "If people's feelings were hurt because of a speech and that led them to vote differently than what they thought the national interest (requires), then they really don't belong here. They're not tough enough."
Really Mr. Frank? Is that so? That's interesting to hear coming from the very person who was also quoted as saying this a couple years ago; ''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.'' Along with your pal Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina who said this; ''I don't see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing.'' Both for which, happened back in 2003.
Yeah, remember that year? The year BUSH was trying to head-off the problems we're seeing now. Time to pay the piper. But for Washington's Dem's, it's time to take it in the rear. If you really want to see the progression of how we got here, take a look at this article by fellow blogger ROSS the Grizzly Groundswell. The video in there spells it out step by step. Too bad, soo sad Dem's. Back to the "who can we blame?" drawing board.
UPDATE: 1-2-2008; For those who may be wondering, yes you are correct, I haven't written anything new for a few days. I have been pondering, and decided to go through with, going on a writting sabatical for a few months. With all the political mess we are in now, and all the crap we've been put through over the last year and a half, I need the rest, just as America needs a rest from liberals. I'll c yas on the flip side. --John

FIREPROOF: No Media For Excellent First Weekend Showing
One would think, with as much as Hollyweird has essentially, well SUCKED, over the last several years with few exceptions (i.e., IronMan and a couple others,) that when a movie rakes in over 12 times it's production costs the first weekend, there would be rave media reviews. But not in this case. Why? Because the movie has nothing to do with being made by, or promoting the secularist lifestyles the lefties, erm, I mean media, have come to whole heartedly embrace.
Or better described by the secularist crowd, Fireproof, "it's just another GOD flick."
But, this "GOD flick" as it were, cost a mere $500K to produce. That's it! It only opened in a measly 839 theaters too! Not a lot by any standards really. Yet this NON-hyped, word of mouth movie that only cost $500K to make and opening in only 839 theaters, finished FOURTH in the top ten this weekend earning $6.5 million in total receipts! And this is just it's FIRST weekend! And it only missed taking third spot according to the AP (Sony's Lakeview Terrace) by $500k.
I wonder what the total after 4 full weeks, (a month for those running slow today,) will be?
So where's the media fan fare? Or is it just sour grapes that this is the SECOND time, this little church production company Sherwood Pictures, in Albany, Georgia has done this to Hollyweird? Oh yeah. This has happened before. This same group is also responsible for a little flick called "Facing the Giants." That one only cost them $100k to make. It only opened in about 450 theaters total. It took in over $10 Million in theater sales. AND, a further $20 million in DVD sales that followed!
Come on Hollyweird. It's not the end of the (your) world just because you can't get it right anymore. I mean sure you've had and endless streak of miserable failures lately, many of which hinged on your faulted perception of how much things have improved in Iraq. Or seriously slanted perceptions of religion. But for some reason, I'm thinking Hollyweird in all its usual lackluster glory and splendor, will snub this one for any awards.
Sore losers.

E-mail: What Is A Veteran? Or "Desks"
Got this one today from a co-worker. I'm sure some of you had seen it before, just as I have. But I thought it fitting to post it this time. Just as a reminder to those who (quite mistakenly) believe America should become "more like other countries." Usually referring to Europe and the like. They just don't get it that things don't come cheap, let alone free. There's always a price to be paid by some one.
But anyways, the e-mail is Factual, as can be found on Snopes.com.
So, without further embellishment, the e-mail;
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock , did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks. Looking around, confused, they asked, 'Ms. Cothren, where're our desks?
'She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me what you have done to earn the right to sit at a desk.
'They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.
''No,' she said.
Maybe it's our behavior.
'She told them, 'No, it's not even your behavior.
And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom. By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms. Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room. The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the deskless classroom.
Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.'
At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.
Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'
What I found appealing about the version I received today, was the following addition;
What is a Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact.
God Bless the American Warrior. Be it Sailor, Soldier, Airman or MARINE!

HARRY REID vs. Shale Oil: Another BAN Attempt
Mr. Harry "carbon energies make us sick" Reid obviously doesn't like Shale Oil. So much so, that while the rest of Congress and the President are dealing with the useless bailouts, he is trying to get a ban on Shale Oil exploration through. Way to go Mr. Iraq-is-lost Reid. That being the case, I can expect you to open up your own wallet every week to pay my commute bill then?
Didn't think so.
Nice try though.. Harry.
Townhall.com has a nice little op-ed piece about this by Amanda Carpenter. And it looks like Harry has been caught with his pants around his ankles, trying to slip America a nifty little butt-romping. Seems Sen. Jim DeMint (R.-S.C.) caught wind of Harry's little scheme, and posted the text on his own Senate Blog. If you have trouble opening the page, no worries. I'll REPOST the text here;
Sec 1602 continues ban on oil shale. The language follows:
SEC. 1602. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 152 of division A of H.R. 2638 (110th Congress), the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009, the terms and conditions contained in section 433 of division F of Public Law 110–161 shall remain in effect for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.
And here is the FULL version, for those so inclined. All 79 pages worth. And yes, I read it all. The above text can be found on page 23.
As found in the article, Republican Senator Wayne Allard of Colorado also sounded the alarm. But in his case, it's slightly different. Most of the Shale Oil is located in the Western States of America. And Colorado is believed to contain between 800 billion to 2 trillion barrels worth alone. Let me guess. "Oh, it's okay Colorado. You really didn't need any of those jobs that would be created by opening up those vast reserves."
It's good that info like this gets out. It lends credence to the growing resentment against Democrats, who America is becoming more aware of as being the culprit for America's energy woes. If America isn't allowed to make use of its own energy resources soon, I believe there will be a goodly number of Dem's getting their feet held to the flames.
Personally, I'm surprised no one has tried to take Reid, Pelosi, and the rest of the Enviro-Nazi bunch out yet. And that's just for all the other stupidity they've pressed upon us. Now where the hell did I put that PITCHFORK?

Bailout Profits Earmarked For La Raza, ACORN And Others
There's always something "rotten in Denmark," (no offense intended Danes, just utilizing the old maxim,) when Government presses its nose into the market. As you may have already noticed from previous posts, I am NO fan of the bailouts. Nor will I be. But now, I have even more reason to despise this move of Government to spend MY money.
EARMARKS!
I got this post from a buddy over on ARRA which goes into much more depth than I will here. I recommend you pop over and give it a good read. It's worth it.
It would be one thing if they were regular earmarks. We'd expect that kinda crap from Government. But these aren't just any kind of earmarks. Were not talking about a bridge to nowhere in Alaska that Obama and Bidden continued to fight for. Even after Palin backed away from it. Or something off the wall like a UFO education center in the middle of the Nevada desert to inspire future Alien groupies. (I made that up, but I expect someone will try to do it.... eventually.)
No. We're talking about money going to corruption laden groups here. Groups that are not known for their acting in the countries best interest, but for THEIR, best interests. We're talking about La Raza. We're talking about ACORN. And quite possibly, the National Urban League. La Raza is a Freedom of speech squasher. An open border proponent. A VERY racist, hateful group, working towards "The Reconquista" of America. You wonder how the jokes about "Mexi-fornia" were created? Now you know.
ACORN has it's own problems, with issues like voter fraud and misuse of taxpayer funds. ACORN has had about a decade of funding issues, and now, they are being called on it. Enter the well known term "whistleblower." Internal documents have created the need for investigation. There's a two page PDF press release you can read on this subject.
The bailouts, they're a croc-o-.... well, you get the idea. I recommend people get a hold of their Representatives and tell them NO-WAY! We already have a financial problem as it is. The bailouts will do little more than delay the inevitable. What say we take the medicine before the sickness grows worse?

BOOB-Berry: PETA's Idea For A New Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream Flavor
Okay, time for one of those "off the well beaten trail" posts. A chance to sidestep the close order combat of politics for a moment, and just get a good laugh over something beyond ridiculous. Today's topic; Ice Cream, and a new flavor that PETA is interested in seeing. I always knew these people were dealt a bad hand in life mentally, but this really takes the cake.
So onward we tread.
How many folks here like Ice Cream? I know I do. Personally, I myself have never been a huge Ben & Jerry's buyer. Eh, some occasional Chunky Monkey perhaps. But I prefer more traditional flavors. Or at least, what the normal person could consider traditional. Rocky Road, Chocolate Mint, etc. Perhaps it's just the name, Cherry Garcia, that gives me a little bit of the heebie-jeebies. Did they incinerate his body and spread a little of his ashes in every batch?
Like I said, "traditional" flavors.
But PETA, in all their wisdom, has devised an entirely new flavor idea for the Ice Cream kings of Vermont to try. BOOB-Berry! Well, not really. But the concept itself exists in theory. PETA has issued a request to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, that they cease using cow milk to produce their delectable goodies, and instead begin using BREAST MILK! O... M... G...! Can you even begin to imagine this? I'm laughing even as I write this. Are we going to see waffle cones in the shape of women's breasts to be served such a (I can only imagine) tasty treat?
I know what your thinking right now. (At least, if you hadn't seen the CNN news report yourself on this topic this morning.) Your kidding, right? This has got to be a joke! There's no way anyone could possibly conceive of thinking something this stupid! Nope. Sorry to say, but it's completely true. PETA even went so far as to refer to a Swiss restaurant that WAS using breast milk in some of its menu items. However, they failed to check up on that establishment BEFORE sending off their request to B&J's. That Swiss establishment was ordered to cease and desist that practice only a few days earlier.
So take a look at the CNN video. And please, be kind to the PETA-ites out there. And try no to laugh at them to much.

Race Cards In Election 2008: USAToday's Beyond Black And White
So, according to the ABCNews/Columbia University polling results, which are listed front page and 'above the fold' in today's USAToday, race is still an issue in modern elections. You all remember Columbia University don't you? The "let's invite a tyrannical madman of a dictator over for tea and conversation," University. Their results conjure in me utter shock and amazement.
Yes, that comment was dripping with sarcasm.
Of course race still plays a minor factor in elections these days. Why? Because some folks just don't get it. Just like the 'sexism' I mentioned in my other article about Female Presidents, there will always be some fringe remnant that refuses to 'get with it.' So, if there is anything I can congratulate Obama for, it's for this. For completely rendering "Null and Void," the stigma of "it's a white mans world," and "keepin' da black man down," that some idiots cherish the opportunity to tout. With Obama obtaining the Democratic Presidential nomination, ALL race card arguments are no longer valid. Whether he wins or not. Period.
'Cause da black man dun gots himself to da top. And was da white mans money (George Soros) what got him there.
Thanks Barry.
But the Columbia poll listed front and center in the USAToday, paints a vastly different picture on race in politics, to the point one "could" wonder, why McCain himself isn't playing the race card. According to the stats of those polled, OVERALL, voters are split 45% for McCain and 47% for Obama. Not a big margin by any stretch. But when the numbers are broken down by race, oh boy can we have some fun.
Whites favor McCain by a generous but not outlandish margin. Certainly not the country-dividing, race is the major issue margin, that certain media outlets like to hype. And even more importantly, the race-card playing individuals would have us believe exist. In fact, the spread is only a 20% difference with Whites favoring McCain 56% over Obama 36%.
Yeah, looks like us Slave driver's are definitely ALL racist bastards, aren't we.
Hispanics aren't all that bad off in the poll. They are actually an almost reversed mirror image of the Whites results, with Hispanics favoring Obama 57% over McCain 33%. A respectable, but not unexpected result really.
Now here's the real kicker. According to the Columbia poll, Blacks Favor Obama...
..wait for it...
92%!
Over McCain at a meager 4%.
That's a whooping 36% racially discriminate difference between whites voting for McCain and blacks voting for Obama.
Who were those evil, nasty, bigoted, prejudicial racists come election time again?

E-Mail: RE-ELECT NOBODY! 545 People
I got the following e-mail today from a co-worker, and found it more than worthy of republishing. It truly does 'say it all.' The message it attributed to a Charlie Reese, a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper. From what I understand, Mr. Reese worked for the Orlando Sentinel (where this was originally published) from about 1971- 2001. The Sentinel's archives only go back to 1985, so it's likely this was published "prior to" 1985 as I could not find an online listing of it there.
So, without further ado, the e-mail;
RE-ELECT NOBODY!
Worthy of your time and attention regardless of your Party Affiliation
545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices... 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Army &Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ. If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like the economy, inflation, or politics that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
Yes, yes. I know. A person with the resolve to discredit anything about government could nit-pick away at a message like this. "Well, we DID vote them into office." Yeah, and how many promises of change did we hear from them prior to electing them? Etc., etc., etc.
Take it for what it is, a basis for a good political sweep of both sides of the aisle. Time to clean "House," wouldn't you say?

Anyone For A Mexican-Style Beheading? Get That Fence Built!
Who knows. Perhaps those drug cartels are just trying to create the latest and greatest rage in pinatas, and the hit men are really just the R&D department of said organizations. How much more violence, both in Mexico, and what is obviously spilling over into America proper, do we have to suffer before we get our fence built? Yes, it will have immediate effects of stemming the tide of U.S. citizens from being dragged into Mexico, for ransoms and the like.
It can't be that hard.
It really is that obvious.
So get it done!
If the U.S. State Department can issue a travel warning about Mexico in it's entirety, about "unsafe conditions" due to the violence, that's a hint. Things are not going well there. And for those of you who are unfortunate enough to be growing up in today's 'whitewashed' educational system, Mexico is our NEIGHBOR. Yeah, just on the other side of our southern border. Hopefully, one of your liberalized educators mentioned this to you at some point. How did that old maxim go? Something about "good fences make BETTER neighbors..." Or something along those lines.
FENCE. It does America good! (To borrow an 'amended' Milk commercial phrase.)
Speaking of violence, I don't think I need remind anyone of the happenings of one Nick Berg, do I? That's the guy who was beheaded by terrorists, and the video of the atrocious act was published online. Well, guess what? That sort of thing is going on big time, right on the other side of the border. And just as the terrorists did, they've been publishing these vid's. On YOUTUBE, no less. YouTube has been trying to take them down as quickly as possible. But that's almost a loosing battle.
There has been a big surge in beheadings in Mexico over the last year, so many that it's becoming difficult to keep track of them. Here are just a few articles about some of the most recent incidents. Articles One, Two and Three.
According to the TIME article, there have been upwards of 200 beheadings in 2008 alone. HELLO!?! Can I get my fence built! NOW! Immediately if not SOONER! I have no desire to become the next "Gringo on a stick!" winner. The violence of which, is actually threatening the stability of Mexico itself. As is likely happened to many of the U.S. Citizens disappearing or being executed as far into America as Dallas, Texas. Cartel hit lists containing names of American Police Officers.
This WILL spill over into America. The question is, how much of it can/will be averted, by simply putting up the damn fence, we were PROMISED!

Palin E-Mail Hacked: FBI Targets Son Of Tennessee Democrat Lawmaker
The more I read accross the web about this crime from ANY outlet, be it CNN, HuffPo, etc., the more I'm having old images of 'Watergate' popping into my head. I'm wondering when all the 'inconclusive' hearings and the like will begin, to see if in fact, DAD had anything to do with this. And if he did, if anything will actually come out of it?
But since some haven't heard of this yet, here's the gist; The FBI is eyeing the son (20 year old David Kernell, a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville) of DEMOCRATIC State Rep. Mike Kernell (Tenn.) as being the culprit for hacking into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's e-mail the other day. Fortunately, there was no content of official status there in. UNFORTUNATELY, there WAS plenty of personal info. Family photos images, the cell number of Palin's daughter, etc.
The culprit, which may or may not be David Kernell, (I'm being generous here with my benefit of the doubt,) left messages all over the internet about having performed this crime. The notations were left by someone using the name "Rubico," which openly stated he hacked the e-mail account intentionally to find specifics. As found on the NYPost page; The hacker said he was disappointed because he found "nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I hoped."
The NYPost article also mentions that the hacker was worried about being discovered; "Yes I was behind a proxy, only one, if this s- - - ever got to the FBI I was f- - - -d, I panicked, I still wanted the stuff out there . . . so I posted the [information] . . . and then promptly deleted everything, and unplugged my internet and just sat there in a comatose state." That's sounds like a 20 year old student contemplating a vacation in a Federal Prison at the time the crime was being/had been committed.
And there is good reason to believe David Kernell WAS the one that did it. Both David, AND his father Mike Kernell, are both OBAMA supporters. The thing is, did David work for the Obama campaign? If so, I'm betting there was a nice bonfire going somewhere after this crime occurred, consisting of any and all records of David's participation in the Obama campaign. And if dear 'ol dad encouraged this action?
Well, you get the picture.
As is so eloquently stated at the end of the NYPost article by Danny Diaz, a spokesperson of the Republican National Committee; "The fact that a Democratic activist - and possibly an Obama supporter - could go to these lengths is deeply disturbing and criminal."

Left Losing Ground: Palin Witch Trials Unraveling
Just got this today from ALG. And it looks like the Palin bunch has good reason to have called for the end of the "inquisition" being pressed upon her. Turns out, the Obam-ites are the root cause of the overrated "Trooper-gate" investigation. And less surprisingly, it had been planned for some time.
"Tainted investigation," is a gross understatement in this case.
Go figure.
But Hollis French, The Dem. leading the charge against Palin, who is also a devout Obam-ite, (or he wouldn't show up center stage of an Obama web site pic,) lied about his impartiality towards the investigation into "Trooper-gate." Originally generated over the firing of Walter Monegan. Monegan by the way, it described by French as being a close friend. Conflict of interest here perhaps?
French's coup of Palin began well before the Legislative Council even considered any inquiries. As found in the ALG article; The star chamber did not officially begin its proceedings until Monday, July 28, 2008. Yet, in December, 2007, French had already held a press conference with Monegan, whom the senator considers a close friend, to announce their joint efforts to undercut the Palin Administration by having the Safety Commissioner present his own budget in defiance of the Governor’s instructions.
So, after defying Palin's Administration on the budget issue, Palin got Monegan to resign. Which was what French wanted. That was July 11th. And not ten days later it seems, (July 21st,) French appeared on KUDO's Carrie Carrigan show. Guess who was there with him? Yup, Monegan. And together they announced how they were essentially going to "get Palin," as French claimed to be angered that his friend was fired. Fired? Monegan resigned, didn't he?
After this, it just gets worse and worse for Obama's Action Team Alaska leader, Hollis French, as more and more people involved have direct links to either the Obama camp itself, or were "friends of" someone of the camp. This includes Alaskan Council chairman Kim Elton, who's hubby, Mr. Elton is recorded as having donated over $2.2k to Obama's campaign, is a co-leader on that same Action Team Alaska, and is another Senate "best buddy" of French.
You've really gotta read the full article over at ALG. It just gets better and better.

Woe Is The... Taxpayer? Back To Bailouts
After having just praised "whomever" in the Fed. for having the intelligence to say NO to more bailouts, the proverbial slap in the face emerges. Damn that sure smarts. And it's a pretty nice price tag on this one. AIG is getting an $85 Billion TAXPAYER funded loan from the Fed. to shore up it's failing, saggy ass.
Thanks a bunch there Billy-boy Clinton, for bringing this housing fiasco to our doorstep. We really appreciate that. I'd also like to toss out a big thankies to the House Dem's that blocked Bush's attempt to get tighter oversight implemented for Fannie and Freddie. Boy, we sure do owe them a great, big, humongous, kick to the groin for their part in the current detritus that is our economy today as we know it.
Although none of them seem to recall that they did this to us.
Glad your on OUR (the common man's) side, Dem's. I'd hate to think of what kinda destruction, havoc if you will, you could wreak on the American taxpayer if you were against us. And before some Lib-tard makes the mistake of opening the hole under their nose and tries to say otherwise, like the blame belongs on Bush, and him alone, I recommend you read one of your OWN liberal rags, which says otherwise. Remember, you pray at the altar of the Ol' Grey Lady.
So here's the gist of the newest bailout. As it stands, this one is an $85 billion bailout. And as you may have already heard, it's for a pretty big insurer, AIG. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson essentially said that this companies failure reaches beyond our own shores. AIG covers insurances for upwards of 74 million globally. So it kinda had to get some kind of help. Something to do with helping to stabilize the financial market, and limit the damage to the economy.
Okay. So we're picking and choosing whom to back. Can we pick some "smaller" taxpayer funded amounts while we're at it? PLEASE?
No? Okay, how about tightening the reins a bit when bailouts come? Great, that one we can do. AIG is not getting off scott-free here. The loan is only good for about 24 months from what reports are showing. So, at least it's not an "open ended" Federal ATM machine. Nor is the interest rate very pretty. Try 11.3%, or there abouts. Can you imagine what the interest payment alone on $85 billion is at 11.3%?
And that's the point. At least it looks that way. That Americans are reaching the end of their ropes when it comes to THEIR money being spent, and on what it's being spent on. It's looking to be like a "deterrent" for anyone else "expecting" to be bailed out. Coupled with the big NO the Fed. tossed Lehman and Merrill, and some lending practices are about to be rethought I would guess.
Now, if we could just dump the multi-culturalistic "BS" regulations that helped fuel this fire with its stiff penalties for companies NOT taking on these high risk loans, (another big thanks to Billy-boy, and Carter as well,) perhaps we could get some holes patched up.
There's more on the AIG bailout here.

Wall Street Journal: Speculators Are NOT To Blame
Speculators! Speculators! Speculators! The fuel and oil price problems are all the speculators fault! Or, so we heard non-stop from the powers that be (in control for now) in the House. There's no other excuse they said. It has nothing to do with Supply and Demand they said. It has absolutely nothing to do with a weak monetary unit they said.
Well. The global bastion of financial news, that being the Wall Street Journal, says otherwise.
Not only did speculation have absolutely nothing to do with the price spike, but according to the WSJ article, In one of the broadest and most authoritative studies to date, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has offered hard statistical data that financial trading hasn't been driving price moves. The CFTC conducted an unprecedented Wall Street data sweep and scrutinized millions of transactions worth billions of dollars between January and June of this year. And it turns out, it was exactly "supply and demand" that was responsible, along with, you guessed it, a weak dollar.
Go figure.
As a matter of fact, the article goes on to mention (specifically) that oil trading actually DECREASED as prices soared. The CFTC found that index traders and swap dealers actually reduced their stake in crude oil futures as prices spiked. The number of contracts held by these investors betting that prices would increase -- the net long position -- fell by 11%, and more were shorting oil than going long over the six-month period. In other words, index traders and swap dealers were driving the future price of oil down. To bad, so sad to the finger pointing brigade on that one, eh?
It should be noted that Congress held more than 40 hearings on "speculation" over the summer, and commission chief Walter Lukken was the pinata. Anyone in want of a "refund" for squandered tax-payer funds? I'd sure be interested in that.
Additionally, the WSJ article brings up the point that the commodity index funds don't hold that much in shares in regards to the oil market/industry, as SOME (I'm looking at you blame-gamers,) would have people believe. Apparently, the share holding margin is only about 13%. It goes on for another "it really matters" comment, that even if it were incredulously high, say 70%, it still would have no bearing on things, as it's "one wins, one loses" trade. So 5 million barrels can't be BOUGHT, until someone else SELLS 5 million barrels.
The article sums up, what we as Americans en mass, are coming to the realization of. And rather quickly I might add. That, the speculation furor was never about the evidence. The politicians wanted a fall guy for rising prices, since the real explanations of supply and demand and the falling dollar were partly their fault.
Now, how about we give good 'ol Madame NO (Pelosi,) a swift kick in the ass, and get to voting on the Republicans "all of the above" energy plan. That should take care of the Supply and Demand part of the problem.

IAEA Report: Two Years Before Iranian Mushroom Clouds Come
Or, so the IAEA says. The IAEA just released a report, that Iran is "stonewalling" the Atomic organizations efforts at investigating some disturbing allegations. And of course, the report was deemed by an Iranian official as being fabricated. Surprise, surprise, right? Shockingly enough, MSNBC even picked up on the story, and doesn't entirely paint Iran as a great group of guys.
The Reuters newswire report on MSNBC points out a few things that, while completely obvious to most of us, seem to be "shocking" to those incapable of thought. That being, Iran isn't being completely honest about it's nuclear program. Nor is it interested in being so. Here's a few bits from the article;
The confidential report also said Iran had raised the number of centrifuges enriching uranium to 3,820, compared with 3,300 in May, with over 2,000 more being installed. I wonder why so many? Could it be to speed up the enrichment process? And for what need is there for so much Highly Enriched Uranium if your only powering energy plants?
Iran had stockpiled 1,050 pounds of low-enriched uranium so far. It would need 33,000 pounds to convert into high-enriched uranium for fuelling an atom bomb. Ohhhhh, so THAT'S why they need so many centrifuges for enrichment. That would be a significant quantity, one unit of HEU, and would take on the order of two years.
And there ya go. So we're looking at at least two years (maybe more,) before we start seeing the first Iranian mushroom clouds rising from Israel and a few other American Allied countries. And even some countries that aren't our allies, but I believe would quickly become so.
Add to this whole mess already, the Associated Press wire, that mentions Iran doing a bit of meddling with the nose cones of rockets to transport nuclear payloads. VIENNA, Austria - The U.N. nuclear agency has presented intelligence allegedly showing plans to redesign an Iranian missile to accommodate a nuclear payload. That's not MY speculation, that's the AP's report. Now where did I put that Iranian Ballistic Missile ranges page?
So there ya have it. Two of the only remaining "close to centrist" media outlets, taking note that Iran is not a bunch of really great guys.
I foresee them being labeled right-wing, extremist, FOXNews-like, shortly.

Don't Drill Here! Don't Drill Now! The Pelosi (FU America!) Energy Fraud
Got this from ALG today, and it highlights what we've all come to readily recognize. That the Dem's are not interested in facts. They aren't interested in some format of energy self reliance. (Even though Pelosi did say on National TV that she was open to new drilling.) And that they most definitely, are not going to allow the American public to get what they want. Or need for that matter.
Business as usual it seems.
It's been close to two months now, that House Republicans have remained on the floor demanding Pelosi call lawmakers back to vote on the American Energy Act. That vote still has yet to arise. But not to be outdone when it comes to public spectacles, Pelosi and her cohorts have crafted THEIR OWN energy legislation. And guess what? No new drilling! Isn't it fantastic?
Erm, wait. No. That's not good.
Well, there you have it. Dem's, beholden to the enviro-nazi's of the world, are bound and determined to prevent any more realistic drilling. Oh, their plan does allow for some new drilling, over 100 miles away from shore. But it essentially holds over 80% of the oil and natural gas, that's closer to shore hostage. Thanks a bunch for that one "Madame No."
Here are a few highlights from Pelosi's energy extravaganza, provided by the Institute for Energy Research;
*Institute a permanent ban out of 50 miles.
*Permit leasing between 50 and 100 miles offshore if a State ‘opts-in’ to allow leasing off its coastline by enacting state law.
*Continue the ban on energy production in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico.
*Lift the ban on energy production beyond 100 miles.
For those who might not be aware, here is a PDF from I.E.R. on where the resources off shore actually are. There's also a little bit available via the WashingtonPost.com on the overall subject.
All in all, Pelosi is tossing a big FU! to the American populace, when it comes to relieving the burden of higher energy prices. I've not even gone into the increased taxes (via the "gang of 20") we'll be paying for the new energy surplus we WON'T be getting. At least, under her plan. Needless to say, it's significant.
Don't know about you, but I foresee extensive deforestation looming as people try to keep warm during the coming Little Ice Age, I mean global warming age, we're entering.

Lehman Brothers & Merrill Lynch: No Bailout For You!
And thank goodness for that. We're already in the serious crapper-pile enough as it is from the last buy outs. Those being FannieMae and FreddieMac. And come to think of it, I did a little further digging after I wrote that last takeover article, and it really is worse than it sounds. At the time I wrote that, the average number being circulated as being a taxpayer burden was around $200 Billion.
Oh boy, was that a misguided number.
It's "BEYOND" worse than that.
The actual number that the average American taxpayer is now burdened with for that previous mess settles in, at a nice comfy, cozy, $2.5 TRILLION burden. That's roughly about $14,000 per taxpaying individual. Of course, that's based on all 180 million eligible taxpayers in America, coughing up an equal share.
Gotta love that "wealth redistribution" crap, eh?
But now. Finally. Someone has shown the smarts. The 'huevos grande' if you will, necessary to just say NO! Yes, it can happen. Lehman Brothers Holdings will NOT be getting a federal handout. Say hello to what the little people face. Chapter 11 for you buddy. That's right, Lehman will be filling for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, as it goes under. And it won't be at taxpayers expense. Well, at least not ALL of our expense. Yeah, people holding stock with them will take a hit. Some 401k's will feel the pain. But hey, it happens.
The one with the better looking outcome here is Merrill Lynch. At least someone is picking up the tab for them. Bank of America has decided to buy them out. For like $50 billion. Sorry BoA users, but not all of you will be happy with this. Glad I don't bank with them anymore.
But the long and short of all this is, finally, Americans enmasse, are no longer being held accountable for individual companies shortcomings. Businesses start. Some succeed. Some fail. So goes life in America.
Oh, there is a happy note. At least for the Fannie/Freddie crowd. Those CEO's that thought they were gonna be able to bail out as those two companies nose dived. Well, they better start flapping their arms. Since the government essentially 'owns' them now, they YANKED their golden parachutes off their back before they jumped.
Have a nice landing, and thanks for collapsing half the mortgage industry.
There's some more HERE on the overall stock slamfest.

October 1st: American Energy Freedom Day
For the last month and a half, Republicans have been waiting on the House floor, calling for Pelosi and her cohorts to return and give an up or down vote on the American Energy Act. A bill that embraces ALL forms of energy. Not just drilling. That still has yet to happen. Pelosi has yet to honor this call. Nor will she. But there IS an alternative.
Should all else fail that is.
As found on the CFIF.org (Center For Individual Freedom) website, is an article by Sen. Jim DeMint. A call is being made to declare October 1st, as "American Energy Freedom Day." Why October 1st? Because that's the day the the ban on pretty much every form of energy that America has (or could create) in abundance, expires. Bans on drilling. Bans on oil shale. The purported billions to trillions of barrels of natural gas below our own soil and offshore, could be made available that day.
IF, that is, the ban is allowed to expire.
As mentioned in the article; Increasing our nation's own oil and gas supply is critical to our energy security, but we must also give Americans the freedom to pursue other sources of American energy including nuclear, hydrogen, wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and more.
I'm guessing, (just as the CFIF article mentions,) with as far in the pockets of enviro-nazi's that Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the gang are, they will likely try to reenact the ban. Or at least hefty portions of it. DeMint's article mentions he believes it will probably be stuffed into a budget, spending bill or some such last minute legislation that is imperative to be passed.
There is a petition available at EnergyFreedomDay.com, that will be sent to Pelosi, Reid, etc., that you can sign. The link can also be found inside the original CFIF article as well.

ALG A Modern Gold Standard: Your Thoughts
Yes, I'm actually asking for outside opinions on this one, as I really am interested in what others think on a topic like this. That being the issue of, reverting back to an actual, functioning "GOLD" standard to strengthen the dollar. I received this article via e-mail from ALG (Americans for Limited Government,) and it has some promising aspects to it.
That's where you come in.
I'm looking for those who can help pick something like this apart. I'm talking genuine criticisms here. Don't waste your time sending me flames, as I won't even bother wasting my time with them.
So, here it goes. The ALG article references H.R. 6690 brought about by Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX). His bill is titled the “Sound Dollar and Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.” In which, he is calling for the value of the dollar to be "set at" one five-hundredth of an ounce of gold. Or in other words, the current gold price to be reduced from the $800 or so dollars an ounce it's currently at, to about $500 an ounce. There's more in Poe's article at RealClearMarkets from Sept. 10th.
Poe's words in the ALG article, for support to this measure were as follows:
“At $804/oz, the current market price of gold reflects the expectation (and fear) of future inflation. I believe that fixing the value of the dollar now in terms of gold at $500/oz will stop the current inflation without causing deflation. However, my bill also provides a powerful supply-side stimulus, in the form of first-year expensing of all capital investment, to ensure that economic growth accelerates at the same time that inflation is being stopped. Bringing the dollar price of gold down to $500 will bring the price of gasoline down from its current $3.50/gallon to less than $2.50/gallon. It will strengthen the dollar against foreign currencies. Most important, it will prevent Americans’ incomes and savings from being stolen by inflation.”
According to the ALG article, Poe's proposal mirrors an article by Louis Woodhill back on June 17th, also on RealClearMarkets entitled "Time for a Modern Gold Standard." It was apparently in response to an article by Steve Forbes, written on June 16th on Forbes.com called "Unilateral Disarmament."
The primary, and dare I say most appealing aspect of this more modernized version of a gold standard, is that it more or less exactly fails to be an echo of the failed version of the past. In the old version, gold WAS money which, as Woodhill rightly points out, was a lie to begin with as there never was enough gold to honor such a promise. But under this newer version, gold is NOT money, but as Poe points out, would simply peg the value of the dollar to the value of one five-hundredth an ounce of gold at $500/oz without requiring the nation’s central bank to stockpile bullion to match the dollar printed. Instead, the amount of money would be “determined by the demand for money, which depends upon the transactions people want to do and how much money they want to hold.”
In order for something of this nature to work, Woodhill mentions that it would be necessary for the Fed to use its Open Market operations to force the COMEX price of gold down to (say) $500/oz and keep it there. That's one thing that DOES give me a slight nudge. I'm wondering what sort of affect it would have on people who HAVE purchased gold, at the current prices of around $800 an ounce as part of their retirement portfolios and such. Would a more stabilized dollar be worth the initial loss?
As I said, gimme your thoughts. I'm ignoring flames. Just want genuine commentary, possibly for future discussion.

Are We Ready For A Woman President: Palin in 2012 Or 2016?
In my opinion, and it's not just me that thinks this, I'd have to say YES. I think that America really is ready for a woman President. Heck, even during this current election cycle, we had the possibility of it happening. But since Soros' money, along with a few other folks, were pinned on Obama, she didn't have the chance she could have had.
But I actually do believe that America could deal with having a woman as a President now. I think we've seen enough women rise to positions of power throughout the country. Throughout the world even, over the last decade or so, that people have become accustomed to women being in power of a sorts.
So why haven't we had one yet?
There are a myriad of reasons I think people could or would attribute to 'why not yet?' And I couldn't begin to even dent the list, but I'll toss my two cents in on a couple of things "I" believe are still a hindrance. Hopefully, they'll be overcome within the next few years. I'd hate to think that some of these could last much longer in a 'civilized' society.
Sexism, or at least some variant of sexism, is still a damper. There's always gonna be that portion of folks who just can't get with it. That women can do things too. Besides cook and make babies that is. One only needs to look at our current election process to have seen this issue played out. Hillary was really beating Obama. And there are A LOT of Hillary supporters, who adamantly refuse to back Obama. Millions in fact. They felt they were betrayed. They were ready to elect a woman. Now they are left with nil. Add to the mixture, that the Obama campaigners have been zeroing in on the, 'female-ism' if you will, of Sarah Palin. How could she possibly be both a MOM, and a Vice President at the same time? Uh, well, she's already a Governor, managing a $12 Billion a year budget, with over 77,000 employees.
I think she will do fine taking a step up the ladder.
Trust. I actually think this is a bigger issue in and of itself than the sexism problem. It appears to be mostly based on, as a co-worker of mine adequately mentioned, "is something they've never seen before." But thankfully, with the right woman, this issue can disappear as quickly as the wind. This too, can be seen in our current election cycle, with again, Gov. Palin. In Hillary's case, many felt a woman was a good choice, just not enough to trounce Obama. Hillary's supporters felt they could "trust" her to lead. Enter Gov. Palin. Any doubt for the mass of Conservatives over McCain's ticket disappeared overnight. They see Palin as trustworthy. Judging by the upward spike that Palin has generated for the McCain ticket in the polls over the last week, has shown that MANY people are ready for a woman.
It just needs to be the RIGHT woman.
This is by no means, the be all-end all to the whys and why nots. But should shed a little light on the subject for many.

Pick A Poll, Any Poll: McCain Palin Lead Them All
CNN has finally come face to face with reality of REAL life. Unlike that utopia crap they've been living in, in their own minds. That not only has the Obamassiah's "Hope & Change" train stalled in it's tracks, but has now begun to grind into reverse gear. And now, they've had no choice but to concede that it truly is happening. Their socialist savior is failing.
Guess that can happen, when you count on someone like Obama to lead you to your own personal hell's... erm, I mean paradises. I guess Obama's inner circle of friends hasn't paid off for him as well as he would have thought.
Sure enough though, whilst watching a few minutes of the Communist News Network this morning, CNN actually carried a story that showed McCain now leading Obama by a couple percentage points. Shocking I know, but they actually admitted it. Maybe they heard about Olbermann, and would rather not suffer the same ratings disgrace he brought upon MSNBC by being uber-biased. At least on screen.
Of course you know, CNN surely wouldn't allow it to be all good news, as they did manage to sugar coated the revelation for the Lib's by mentioning that Obama still leads in electoral votes. For now at least. But, with the McCain/Palin ticket having climbed up about 7-8% points (depending on which of the many polls you could go by) over just one week, I doubt that the electoral will favor Obama much longer either.
Of course, the election itself still has yet to happen. And there are still around 8-11% of eligible voters that have yet to make up their minds (the 'undecideds' column in polls) as to whom they will choose. So things could still go either way. But with this latest showing, things are looking up for McCain & Palin.
Which leads me to ponder another question. Would Palin run for President in 2016?

Sayonara Olbermann: MSNBC Demotes Liberal Mouthpiece
Oh what a day it is! Finally! The left tilted MSNBC has finally begun to catch on to what truly outrages America. That you can't keep a Socialistic, (dare I say almost Communistic) bastard like Olbermann on national television long. At least, not without it severely damaging your credibility. Not to mention the internal conflicts he must generate.
Oh wait, the view of the media is already in the 'crapper' as it is. I believe they're only beating congress' sorry approval ratings by 2-3 percentage points. I guess it's not so bad being 'Dubya' at the moment with a low 30's rating after all, eh? So no harm, no foul I guess.
But it would appear that MSNBC, (or MS-LSD as I've come to refer to them,) is in want of joining the big boys of broadcasting. Or at least more legitimate outlets. And they want to actually be taken seriously. In order for them to do that, some changes had to be made. Buh-bye Olbermann. To much liberal "BS" isn't as good for a channel as you would like to think.
It's not 'state run media'... yet.
Unfortunately, Olbermann isn't completely leaving MSNBC, which is too bad. Would only have scored them more points in my opinion.
But he has been demoted to position of, well, additional commentator. So we'll only hear from him every now and then. Which is a good thing. Because Olber's fake tan was starting to get a bit creepy. Any darker, and I feel people might have started to think he was a giant piece of toast. Wait, Toast? HA HA! I wonder if MSNBC will send him away with a big vat of grape preserves?
Olbermann won't be missed I can assure you. Well, perhaps HuffPo might kinda miss him, a little. Maybe DailyKOS may think of him every now and then, in passing at best. But his regular "Countdown" (to no ratings) offensiveness? It's finally and completely over for him.
There truly is a God.
And he does answer prayer.
The Associated Press has more on the background that led to his demise.

Now We're Really Doomed: Fannie And Freddie Takeover
So, now me, the "average-joe" kinda guy. A normal guy who doesn't own a house. And come to think of it, have no intention of ever buying a house, or condo... or whatever. Am now financially responsible, (just like every other American has now become,) for the failures of bad lending practices from both lenders and borrowers.
Thanks a whole hell of a lot for that.
Damn 'tards.
As you've all been hearing, the government essentially 'owns' Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac now. You can read some about the takeover details HERE. But it's somewhere in the neighborhood of about 80% of the stock of both of those companies. Well, they're not actually companies anymore. They've kind of morphed into some sort of quasi-governmental bodies. And the government is now backing them with about $200 Billion in TAXPAYER FUNDS. I'm sorry. But I don't recall being given the opportunity to vote on that measure.
Anyways, Fannie and Freddie hold close to about 1/2 of the $12 Trillion in mortgages floating around the country. I think it's actually about $5.5 Trillion. But whose counting, right? They lost about $12 Billion over the last year. During trading this morning at the NYSE, these two quasi-companies' stocks were downgraded to "uber-junk" status. And now the government thinks more handouts, (like the unsuccessful ones from earlier this year that I also opposed,) will do the trick.
Sure, that's it! Throw MORE money at the problem! That always works!
Listen folks, back in the '80's we had a housing issue. They took a big dump back then too. The market eventually adjusted. And guess what? Housing prices eventually came back up. Well nooooo kidding. If there is to be anything done about the current housing issue, it's to NOT throw more money at it. Especially, when it's the TAXPAYERS money. There's government offices in every state. Convert them, (for the most part,) to mortgage review locations. If it was the lending that was the problem, deal with the company that lended. If it was the borrower, well, SORRY, guess your loosing your house.
The problem is, no one is held accountable for their actions any more. People are quick to point the finger elsewhere these days when they screw up. These scrupulous lenders, and the borrowers going for houses they have no business getting tied up with, need to take one for the team. Drop trousers, and bend over.
I've long since grown tired, (not to mention sore,) from taking it in the rear every time someone else screws up!

Hypo-ronic: My New Definition Of Todays Protesters
For the most part, lawful assembly can be a good thing. Don't like what this company, or that institution is doing/promoting? Get a permit and hold a march, or protest against said outlet. It's a rite we have here in America. But what we've had these days, actually in the last few decades, bears no resemblance to actual protests.
Riotous gathering with intent, is more of what it's become.
Therefore, since we seem to add a handful of useless new words to the English language every year, I've decided to coin my own term to describe our modern day 'progressive' protester. A term I believe, that adequately describes, the actions and activities of those who "conform to non-conformity."
Hypo-ronic.
The word being derived from two terms, formed by a combination of both Hypocrite and Ironic, (a var. of Irony.)
Hypo-ronic: An individual/group, given to making declarations of opinion or gestures of disapproval, against actions that contradict their personal stated beliefs or feelings, that inevitably fall prey to performing the very actions (and suffering the subsequent consequences,) that they originally rebuked.
So, why have I bothered to go through all the work on this? In all actuality, the protesters themselves do the work for me. All that was left for me to do was associate the correct words to the actions. Since it's been splashed all over news outlets lately, I'll start with our recent Republican and Democratic conventions. As expected, both the RNC and DNC saw sizable crowds, protesting the war in Iraq, as well as other issues.
And for the most part, they remained peaceful, (love and harmony crap) until the hypo-ronics joined in. As I expected, the DNC resulted in considerably fewer disorderly arrests than during the RNC. Less than 200 to over 800, respectively. And sure enough, the hypo-ronics made their presence known during the RNC in a big way. For a batch of anti-war peace freaks, kidnappings and bombings aren't a very loving and peaceful way to get your message across.
Perhaps I should just start my own dictionary. You know, to describe the "BS" of the times.
Never know, could be worth it.

Jamie Lynn Pregnancy Celebrated: Palin's Daughter A Detriment?
I guess it's okay in the media's eyes, for a sixteen year old sister of a deranged-life pop star to get knocked up. But seventeen year old Bristol, the daughter of a Governor with a very successful executive track record in her short tenure, is somehow a serious scandal. The ramifications of which, (at least in the media's eyes,) will be the downfall of all Conservative values, platforms and life as we know it.
Must be the culture, or the times.
How is it, that in the short time that it's been made known about presumptive vice president Sarah Palin's daughter being five months pregnant, merits such deep scrutiny of a persons life. Deeper in fact, than the entire campaign of the opposite parties front runner for president? How does this happen? With the raking over the coals that the media is frenzied with, you'd almost think it was Bristol Palin that was running for office, and not her mother?
Sarah Palin is pro-life! She's also pro-abstinence education! And her daughter got knocked up right under her nose.
Ohhhhhh. So that's what all the concern is.
A sad commentary in and of itself to base an argument on.
So what your really saying is, the left is in full time, overdrive damage control right now. The not exactly, or even near super-killer hurricane Gustav, syphoned the majority of the wind out of the Obamassiah's Parthenon speech sails. His numbers continue to drop. And now a FEMALE, Gov. Palin (of which, a Governor is considered an EXECUTIVE branch position. Senators are NOT) with an 85% approval rating in her home state, is threatening to leave the Dem's in the dust? Is that it? Because it sure does look that way.
Kind of a sour grapes moment, don't you think?
But the media 'hailed' Jamie Lynn's pregnancy, as if she were the Virgin Mary herself about to give birth. I was waiting to see if a few old guys bearing gifts would make an appearance. Didn't happen though. Just for reference, here are a few random examples to mull through on the obvious double standards by which the media approaches issues like this;
Jamie Lynn.

Apparently, it looks like is simply depends on which side of the political aisle you sit on, or your celebrity status.

Mass Media Misses Mass Good News: As Usual
The doom and gloomers must have the controlling interest in the majority of the mainstream mass media outlets. Otherwise, some of this news might have gone public in a much bigger way. And with as good as it is, it should have. Well, with at least more than fifteen second soundbites. But staying true to form, we just get the bad side from the "fair & balanced" media.
Business as usual.
So let us start off with the economy. Yeah, things are still a bit slow. The Housing Industry is still down by about 15% or there abouts. And the words 'crisis' and 'recession' are still being tossed around by the media puppets like a Frisbee. Yet, the U.S.'s GDP grew by 3.3% during the last quarter. Some of that was caused by the 'stimulus' checks. And another bit was fueled by U.S. exports, during an economic slowdown overseas! Add in the unemployment rate fell by around 10,000 filings to just over 450 thousand.
Why did I NOT, see any of this on CNN? ABC? CBS? etc., etc., etc.?
How about Oil and Hurricanes next? Good. Hurricane Gustav more or less exactly failed to become what the alarmists were hoping for. A major category 20 billion storm that would wipe out not only New Orleans, but ALL the oil rigs in the gulf. Thereby justifying their calls for no more oil/drilling. Gustav bowled a proverbial strike, right down the middle of about 4,000 oil rigs. No damage. None what so ever. The impending doom that failed to materialize, cast fears on oil production. Yet, oil continued to decrease in price. Just like it has been for the last month and a half. Ever since House Republicans started their 'sit in' calling for Pelosi to allow a vote on the American Energy Act. (Yes, it DOES help just talking about it. OPEC doesn't like the possibilities.) Toss in AmericanSolutions.com's million+ petition signers, and Arabs are beginning to really worry.
Oil is now only a few bucks away from falling BELOW $100 a barrel. While still pricey, that's a far cry from the almost $150 a barrel we were at just a couple months ago. And only $0.90 a gallon average above what we were paying one year ago at the pump.
CNN didn't give this more than a few seconds coverage. And MSNBC is whipping their minions into a frenzy over the 'unseen' damage that 'may have' occurred to those rigs.
Lastly, let's make a stop in Iraq. Unless there's a successful killing of an American service member these days, we don't hear much about Iraq anymore. As the media motto goes, "If it bleeds, it leads." So I'll pass on some new news. Good news that is. Less than a year ago, the Anbar province was considered by many, (well, at least to Harry Reid and his comrades,) to be utterly lost. No surge would be able to save it.
Way to keep the faith, in the American Service member, folks.
And true, it was a pretty brutal and bloody area. That's before the Marines got busy. And the Iraqi populace there getting fed up with Al Qaeda. Just a couple days ago, the Marines handed over FULL control of the Anbar province to Iraqi Security Forces. The 11th province to be turned over out of the 18 that exist. A few thousand Marines will remain in training and overseeing positions. The 'unwinable war' is winding down, and coming to a close it seems.
This is all news, worthy of spending some time on in my opinion. Sadly, the 'leftinstra machine,' erm.... uh..., I mean the media, don't see it that way.

Bill Maher: Media Is Bent-Over For Obama
You just gotta know something is going terribly wrong, when liberalista political commentators pause to make mention of the overt media bias. That's just unheard of in this day and age. Bill Maher, who is in no way to be considered even remotely centrist, comes to mind in this extremely rare instance. Maher, during his HBO show this past Friday night, laid out just how enamored the media is with Obama, with just a couple simple sentences.
To quote Mr. Maher, “I think there is a problem, though, with the media gushing over him too much. I don't think he thinks that he's all that, but the media does. I mean, the coverage after, that I was watching, from MSNBC, I mean these guys were ready to have sex with him....It's embarrassing.” Boy, that sure sets the record straight, don't it?
You can find the video clip of this comment, here on NewsBusters.org.
But even with as accurate a statement as that was, I'd have to disagree with one portion of Maher's analysis. Barack DOES think he's all that! Or he wouldn't have given an acceptance speech in a sports stadium, with the Parthenon as a backdrop setting. By the way, per both Rasmussen's and CNN's polls, Obama is only maintaining a 3-4 point bump from it. That's the lowest surge after a DNC for a candidate since way back in 1964.
Too bad. Soooooo sad.
Even worse for Obama, since Gov. Palin's selection as McCain's VP, that lead is slipping. Palin, a wife, now a mother of five with her last child born back in like April (who has Down Syndrome), an avid hunter and lifetime member of the NRA, appeals to such a wide swept voting base. Namely, the right-to-life groups (for NOT aborting her last child,) gun owners, glass-ceiling breaking women, more energy proponents. The list goes on.
Meanwhile, just as Maher stated, media personages are lined up to 'bend-over' for the O-man.
