When Obama had his infamous non-teleprompter supported moment about Socialism in America, erm, I mean "spreading the wealth," I don't think even he meant for it to include the States themselves. He could have meant that, but I'm actually doubting it. But that's exactly what the states seem to be banking on (pardon the pun) will happen. Instead of killing off useless state expenditures, they're preferring to dine ala handouts.
And of course, my wonderful DEMOCRATICALLY controlled state of Cali-Mexi-fornia is leading the pack. Thanks a bunch Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein. Oh and let's not forget the contributions of that RINO, Schwarzenegger.
There's some wonderfully fun-filled stats on this topic found at the ALG site.
Mentioning and musings of an article found on the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities site that list 29 states and Washington D.C. face budget shortfalls of over $48 Billion. Oh, it gets even better. Of those 29 states and D.C., according to election 2008 results, 21 of them are BLUE states. Kinda makes ya wonder, don't it? And of course, the cuts mentioned, are mostly directed at the most vulnerable of society. Cuts to schools, health care, etc. Instead of cutting out the fat inherent in them, like reducing the ADMINISTRATION in schools, they just cut funding to schools completely. Which in turn results in higher tuition's and the like.
Can't touch those tenured folk now, can we?
I actually feel for the red states now. Due to irresponsible spending and failures to address actual financial problems in these blue states, the red states will more than likely end up footing the bill. Those whispers, mumblings and murmurs I've been catching fleeting snippets of today about seceding, just might be those same red states tomorrow saying "Screw this, we're outta here! Your on your own Liberals!"
UPDATE: 1-2-2008; For those who may be wondering, yes you are correct, I haven't written anything new for a few days. I have been pondering, and decided to go through with, going on a writting sabatical for a few months. With all the political mess we are in now, and all the crap we've been put through over the last year and a half, I need the rest, just as America needs a rest from liberals. I'll c yas on the flip side. --John

Starbucks RED Or DDT: The Choice SHOULD BE Obvious
Now, I must say in advance and in all fairness, I despise Star-Schmucks. I never have liked their coffee much. And I probably never will. It really isn’t all that fantastic when you get right down to it. So, as you can probably guess, I also don’t subscribe to the “Status Symbol” effect of it either. As a matter of fact, something I’ve come to enjoy about the place is sparking up a big old fat cigar at their outside seating areas immediately after grabbing a cup. Just to smoke out all the Liberalista that happens to be frequenting the area.

Concord's Big Government Ideals: We Control! We Don't Get Controlled!
Phooey to Self Government and the will of the people. Or says says City Solicitor of Concord, New Hampshire, Paul Cavanaugh. Or better described as, thou shalt not impose limitations upon thy governments rampant spending. A proposed measure, 34a would place a cap on spending that does not exceed inflation. It even allows for an override in times of necessity, by a 2/3 majority vote by the council.
Sounds reasonable enough. Apparently not. At least not to Cavanaugh. As found in the ALG newsletter, Cavanaugh has filed to have its "Constitutionality" tested in court. He says, “The question I have is a fundamental legal one as to whether or not it is, in fact, constitutional.” Cavanaugh rambles further by saying, Whether it gets removed from the ballot or not is a secondary issue, Mr. Cavanaugh assures residents of Concord. He just wants to make sure it’s legal: “No one has raised the issue in court… We'd like to raise it and get an answer.”
Talk about pure-bred Bull$#!T...
Cavanaugh is scared crapless that overt excess in government spending is beginning to be challenged. And it's already begun to happen. Not only in his own general vicinity, as was recently passed in Rochester, New Hampshire. But also in locales like Colorado. Taxpayers are starting to mount a nationwide rebellion, over being saddled with mounting government debt. The mandatory spending and financial obligations have begun to take their toll. They've reached their "We've had enough, and we're not gonna take it anymore!" limit.
Good on them.
Cavanaughs only reason for filing this brief is to try and have it removed from the ballots. And have a court order ensuring that government spending is never again challenged. Of course, you know every labor union imaginable, will be in favor of this measure being removed. Which would continue to guarantee them future minimum expenditures.
In all, it's summed up very well in the last portion of the ALG newsletter; Residents of Concord, and citizens of New Hampshire need to beware. What is really at stake is their right to in their city charters to limit the growth of taxes and spending. Indeed, their very right to limit the powers of their government via referendum—the right of self-government.
There's more on the actual court portion of this mess, to be found HERE!

The U.S. Marines Take Care Of Their Own: Col. John Walter Ripley
I was forwarded this e-mail by a co-worker of mine, and I'm glad he sent it. It's an article and video of the funeral of United States Marine Corps Col. John Walter Ripley. In "today's version" of supporting the troops, just because it's the in thing to do, it's rather uplifting to see that respect is given when and where it's due. You can see that by the number of NON-uniformed persons in the video in the link below.
There are few that attain the distinction of becoming a Marine. For those that do, there is something that every Marine becomes instinctively aware of during their time in service. That is, that EVERY Marine is their brother. So, though I never served with Col. John Walter Ripley, or many of the Marines that have gone before me, or have come after me, it's still as a loss to "my" family.
God bless, and prayers for the family of Col. John Walter Ripley.

Score One For The... Indian Navy? Sinks Pirate Mothership
Well, at least there's one country out there to put their cajones on the worlds chopping block, and back their rhetoric with clear and concise action. Not that India is really known for having a major sea-force. But they are at least putting what they have to good use. Not content to sit around and wait for the world to do something about the pirating occurring off the Somali coastal waters, India has taken matters into their own hands.
Good on them. Bravo!
If only the rest of the world would hit their 'military puberty' as quickly.
What has sparked this new found appreciation from me for India? Just a few hours ago, an Indian Naval vessel has sunk what was described as a Pirate 'mothership.' Pirates have been utilizing larger ships to venture into deep water. It's from these larger (mother) ships which they strike at merchant vessels with smaller craft brought along by those motherships, effectively keeping them out of harms way. And just as importantly to them, out of range of identification should the raid fail.
Tuesday incidents raised to eight the number of ships hijacked this week alone. Since the beginning of the year, 39 ships have been hijacked in the Gulf of Aden, out of 95 attacked. Which is why I find India's actions so appealing. Noel Choong of the International Maritime Bureau's piracy reporting center in Malaysia has mentioned of the piracy problems, "It's getting out of control." Choong has also stated that, "There is no firm deterrent, that's why the pirate attacks are continuing, the criminal activities are flourishing because the risks are low and the rewards are extremely high."
Very high indeed. One merchant vessel that WAS captured Tuesday by a separate group of pirates, was the Saudi Arabian supertanker, the MV Sirius Star. Of which, was crewed by 25 men, and was carrying a full load of 2 million barrels of oil worth roughly $100 million. Tell me that's not a risk worth taking for a people with very little to nothing. Saudi Arabia has condemned the hijacking and said it will join the international fight against piracy. Where as they don't want to negotiate with terrorists and the like, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said the owners of the tanker are "the final arbiter" on the issue.
But from my vantage point, India's willingness to get'er done, just makes my day.
There's more available in the AP article found HERE.

Election 2008: The End Of White Guilt... Go Find Another Cause To Whine About
Got this in an e-mail today and got a good chuckle out of it. It really could actually have circulated back during the elections itself, like when Obama was first nominated. But I suppose its release AFTER his election, gives it more substance. That final dagger to the kidneys of race card playing victo-crats. So raise a mug my friends, "whitey" has now been liberated from any and all racial guilt.
I wonder what Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will try to whine about now?
End of White Guilt....
For over a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-owning predecessors. In the 60s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution. But if a black man can become President, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barak Obama absolutely destroys the entire validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.
So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is now exactly ZERO. And it's time to clean house. No more Reverend Wright's "God Damn America ," Al Sharpton's Church of Perpetual Victimization , or Jesse Jackson's rainbow racism. Cornell West? You're a fraud. Go home. All those "black studies" programs that taught kids to hate whitey? You must now thank Whitey. And I want that on the final.
Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. Maxine Waters? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go home and pet your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. Go ahead. I'm waiting.
Gangsta rappers? Start praising America . Begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. And please…no more ebonics. Speak English, and who knows where you might end up? Oh, yeah…pull up your pants. Your underwear is showing. You look stupid.
To those Eurosnots who forged entire careers hating America ? I'm still waiting for the first black French President.
And let me offer an equal opportunity whupping. I've always despised lazy white people. Now, I can talk smack about lazy black people. You're poor because you quit school, did drugs, had three kids with three different fathers, and refuse to work. So when you plop your Colt 45-swilling, Oprah watchin' butt on the couch and complain"Da Man is keepin' me down," allow me to inform you: Da Man is now black. You have no excuses.
No more quotas. No more handouts. No more stealing my money because someones great-great-great-great grandparents suffered actual pain and misery at the hands of people I have no relation to, and personally revile.
It's time to toss that massive, obsolete race-hustle machine upon the heap of the other stupid 60s ideas. Drag it over there, by wife swapping, next to dope-smoking. Plenty of room right between free love and cop-killing. Careful…don't trip on streaking. There ya go, don't be gentle. Just dump it. Wash your hands. It's filthy.
In fact, Obama's ascension created a gargantuan irony. How can you sell class envy and American unfairness when you and your black wife went to Ivy League schools, got high-paying jobs, became millionaires, bought a mansion, and got elected President? How unfair is that??? Now, Like a delicious O'Henry tale, Obama's spread-the-wealth campaign rendered itself moot by it's own victory! America is officially a meritocracy. Obama's election has validated American conservatism!
So, listen carefully…Wham!!!
That's the sound of my foot kicking the door shut on the era of white guilt. The rites have been muttered, the carcass lowered, dirt shoveled, and tombstone erected. White guilt is dead and buried.
However, despite my glee, there's apparently one small, rabid bastion of American racism remaining. Black Americans voted 96% for Barak Obama. Hmmm. In a color-blind world, shouldn't that be 50-50? Tonight, every black person should ask forgiveness for their apparent racism and prejudice towards white people. Maybe it's time to start spreading the guilt around.
Amen to that, brother!... Amen!

Auto Industry Bail-out: Thank You Dem's And The United Auto Workers
Now, it's important to note upfront, that the UAW is not completely at fault for the impending demise of the American auto industry. There are a number of other factors involved over the years that have also contributed to coming collapse. Poor decision-making, such as Ford having supported the Gay Agenda which has directly affected their sales comes to mind. But, a fair share of the blame can and should be laid directly at the feet of 'Big Union.' Which is specifically the reason that the auto industry does NOT need a bail-out.
They need BANKRUPTCY!
And it should be no surprise whatsoever to anyone, (except of course, the Leftinstra) that just like the $850B bailout for Wall St., the majority of Americans are also against this auto bail-out. But since a considerable amount of the campaign funding and sweet perks the Democrats receive originate from Unions, (cough cough AFL-CIO, cough NEA, choke UAW,) they of course are attempting to push this bail-out forward. Gotta keep those union lobbyists fat and happy, right? Shock and amazement here.
So, why should the auto industry bail-out be rejected?
For starters, if a bail-out occurs, the UAW has all the wiggle room they need to continue to push the auto industry into maintaining excess expenses. For years, decades even, the United Auto Workers Union has forced the auto industry, through collective bargaining (also known as nation wide strikes) into costly contracts that could never be held up in the long run. By having the auto industry instead file for Bankruptcy, (Chapter 11) they will be able to "shed" all those expenses brought about by the swollen contracts, and bring their finances under some form of control. At least, a more manageable form of control. As an example, I'll use Toyota. It costs Toyota on average, $44 an hour to build one of their vehicles. That includes all the employees benefits, such as medical insurance and the like. They don't have big union issues to deal with. Do you want to know how much it costs to build a Ford, thanks to all those contractual burdens?
$73 an hour.
An inferior vehicle costs almost twice as much to manufacture. Thanks to union-ism.
Now, before I get all the whining, I am NOT against unionization. At one point in time, it was a necessary evil, to create a better work environment and ensure that a descent wage was paid for work done. And these days, in some ways, they actually prove useful in helping to make sure that happens. But they need to start going the way of the Dodo if America wishes to make any future progress. By allowing the auto industry to collapse and move through bankruptcy, they'll have a chance to emerge better off than before. Unlike the effect received, when one tries to cure a opium addict by giving him an opiate salt-lick.
*******************
UPDATE!!
The CFIF (Center for Individual Freedom) Picks up on this same premise, and goes into much more detail about the burden created by unionized auto labor, and the benefits of allowing the Auto Industry to file Chapter 11, instead of a bail-out.
Read it HERE!

The Hope-o-crisy Of Working For Obama: A Seven Page Questionnaire?
Oh, if only we could have been given the opportunity to review the anointed one's responses to a questionnaire like this. It might have made a pretty significant difference in the 2008 elections outcome, don't you think? Alas, 'twas not to be. So I suppose we're stuck with him for the next four years then. Might as well try to make the best of living in the Socialist Communes we're headed for.
So let's have a little fun with it, eh?
How hypocritical is it, to try and ensure that your hirelings are spic and span, white as snow, while your own background (should it ever actually be allowed to be fully investigated,) would prevent you from ever becoming an agent to protect the post you now hold? Let's face it, we've allowed a guy that would never be able to work in a military installation that houses nuclear armaments, to become the "wielder of the football," so to speak.
Put's a whole new spin on that 3-a.m. phone call commercial, don't it?
"It's 3-a.m., who do you want answering that phone call? [Military Commander] 'Hello President Obama? We have a nuclear situation that requires your immediate attention and decision.' [Obama] 'Sorry gentleman, but that's above my pay-grade'... [click]...."
Let's examine some of the queries, requirements if you will, that Obama is insisting his Cabinet-hopefuls meet. And this is right from the NYTimes mind you;
#5) Have you or your spouse ever registered as a lobbyist or other legislative agent to influence federal or state legislation or administrative acts? Have you or your spouse ever received payment for acting as a lobbyist or legislative agent? If so, please supply details. Does ACORN count? How about suing banks for supposed redlining under the CRA?
#7) If you or your spouse have ever lived or worked abroad, please describe the circumstances. Like what associations you had while outside America?
#9) Please provide the names, addresses and telephone numbers of three professional references. If possible, please furnish names of individuals with whom you have worked as a peer, a subordinate and as a supervisor. Professional references... An unrepentant domestic terrorist, a radical 'black theology' preacher, corrupt real estates man, an.. oh, just three.
#12) Speeches: Please identify all speeches you have given. If available please provide the text or recordings of each such speech or identify any recordings of speeches of which you are aware. Especially if you got caught without a teleprompter and admited to socialist ideals. Or happen to berate religions or gun owners.
And that's just scratching on to page two of this questionnaire. A pretty amazing display of "do as I say, not as I do."
I'm thinking that perhaps now would be an excellent time to invest in "Litmus test strip" producing companies right now. With questions like this, those stocks are bound to skyrocket in value over the next couple weeks.
So my question to you Mr. President Elect Obama, when will the copy of YOUR answers to this questionnaire be made available to the public? Or will that copy just go the way of the Dodo, like your thesis and the rest of the documents in YOUR background did?

Muslims Get Last Laugh Against Swift: Win $365k Lawsuit
Found this today on jihadwatch.org, and I'm torn between laughing my butt off at the pure inanity of this result, and being completely outraged that yet another submission to "the religion of peace" has occurred. Of course there's gonna be ire, but it's actually kinda humorous to me, that a court could really be this incredibly stupid. It's really beyond human comprehension.
But so goes life.
Muslims get last laugh at Swift: Plant must pay $365,000 to Muslims fired for walking off job.
An update on this story, which played out essentially as predicted although that earlier post referred to the controversy at a different plant. The principles in play are the same. "Minnesota Plant That Fired Muslims for Taking Prayer Breaks Will Pay $365,000," from AP, November 11 (thanks to Islam In Action):
MINNEAPOLIS — Under a settlement to a federal lawsuit, up to 100 Somali Muslims who are current or former workers at Gold'n Plump Inc. will receive a total of $365,000.
The settlement was filed in Minneapolis on Friday. It sprang from allegations of religious discrimination at the company's chicken processing plants in Cold Spring and Arcadia, Wis.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed lawsuits against St. Cloud-based Gold'n Plump and the Work Connection Inc., an employment agency in St. Paul, which handled some hiring for the plant.
Under the settlement, Gold'n Plump agreed to pay $215,000 to workers who were terminated for taking prayer breaks.
The Work Connection will pay $150,000 to workers who were asked to sign a form acknowledging that they might be required to handle pork, which many Muslims consider unclean....
(This last line in the dhimmiwatch article really says it all.)
So the proposition that Muslims have special privileges in American society, to which others are not privy, is now enshrined in precedent.
For another bit of humor, there was an amazing concept thrown out to the masses in the comments section of this same article on dhimmiwatch written by jdamn;
"I was doing some research on PTSD, from which I suffer after having been stalked by a Muhammadan at school. I throw up every time I have to go to class and it sucks. Since PTSD is usually characterized by feeling unsafe when one actually is pretty safe, and since I not only have to keep returning to every place that makes me feel unsafe, but I actually am completely unsafe, my PTSD may not be surmountable. Anyway, I read an article about veterans with PTSD who get service dogs. They're allowed to take them everywhere the public is allowed. Not only does it violate federal law for anyone to ask why they have service dogs, but it's also illegal to in any way outwardly take issue with someone having a service dog. So that's the answer: MORE SERVICE DOGS. I'm asking my psychologist about it on Monday. Not only would it make me feel safe, but it would do double duty as Muhammadan repellent. They could help root out Muslims in every workplace. MORE SERVICE DOGS! Plus it gives more dogs homes and it even gives prisoners something to do, since many of them are trained in prisons. I'm sooooo getting one."
Sign me up for one of those dogs jdamn.

Dem's New Push To Squelch Dissent: Ye Be Warned On The Fairness Doctrine
We've warned, we've hollered, we've yelled. One day soon, we would be seeing a reemergence of the dreaded UNfairness Doctrine. And sure enough, the first move at reinstatement has been made. As found in the Media Research Center's article this morning; "Barack Obama’s transition team has tapped former FCC Commissioner Henry Rivera, a longtime proponent of the so-called “Fairness Doctrine,” to head the team looking for the man or woman who will soon give Democrats a 3-to-2 advantage on the Federal Communications Commission."
I am really starting to have my doubts that America will continue to survive as America, during the next four years. Perhaps we should start to brush-up on our Russian, or Chinese, or perhaps even Arabic.
What's even more disturbing about this is, the major media networks, (who also would be directly affected by this government hand-gagging,) are eerily mum on the subject. Where once they were staunch vocal opponents of ANY censorship of free speech rights, crickets can now be heard from their arenas. "A review shows the broadcast networks — whose affiliates could also be regulated — have failed to run even a single story mentioning the push for a new Fairness Doctrine. The most recent mention of the Fairness Doctrine was on May 30, 2007, when in an interview on CBS’s The Early Show, Al Gore bizarrely called it a “protection” that was removed during the Reagan years."
A protection Al? Would you still have been able to invent the internet had the “Censorship Doctrine” been in play?
And the media can't say it hadn't been warned. There's been numerous fore warnings on the subject. They (media) have just reported it nil. Everything from good 'ol New York Democratic Senator Chucky Schumer equating talk radio to pornography. Democratic Senator Jeff Bingaman telling a New Mexico radio station how he “hopes” the Fairness Doctrine returns so radio will be more to his liking. And even Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein telling Fox News Sunday that she was “looking at” a new Fairness Doctrine because “talk radio tends to be one-sided...
So, when our RIGHT to speak out no longer exists, (and all our other rights begin to disappear afterwards) we can't as a populace say, we didn't know. You've Been Warned!

Gordon Brown Hails Obama's Election As A Chance To Create Global Society
Just a short while back, I tapped out an article about European Union members calling for a restructuring of the Bretton Woods agreement, that had me a little skittish to say the least. Particularly, some of the phrases used, gave me reason to shudder. It stank too much of the "one world government" aspect that will push America, into non-existence. It didn't help that president elect Obama had mentioned in his speech in Germany, about being one people.
Well, I hate to have to say, "I told ya so." But.... I told ya so... and not with a twinge of happiness about saying it either.
Sure enough, now that Obama has been thoroughly elected to be the new US president, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has decided it's a fantastic time to reveal his thoughts on a global society. In an article in the GuardianUK by Deborah Summers titled "Brown envisages 'global society'" P.M. Brown says just that. As taken from the article;
Gordon Brown tonight called for a new age of progressive multilateralism as he hailed Barack Obama's ideals of democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope.
In what will be interpreted as rejection of George Bush's unilateral actions, the prime minister used a keynote speech at the Lord Mayor's Banquet to urge world leaders to join together to create a truly global society.
"While I see a world that is facing financial crisis and still diminished by conflict and injustice, I also see the chance to forge a new multilateralism that is both hard-headed and progressive," Brown said.
"And I believe that in our international co-operation on finance, climate change, terrorism and ending conflict, there is evidence of this new multilateralism at work in the world – fairer, more stable and more prosperous because it is rooted in cooperation and justice.
"And if we learn from our experience of turning unity of purpose into unity of action, together we can seize this moment of profound change to create, for the first time, the age of the truly global society, one where progressive multilateralism, not narrow unilateralism, is the norm."
The prime minister said the alliance between Britain and America, and more broadly between Europe and America, must provide leadership in the effort to build a stronger, secure and more equitable international order.
"Winston Churchill described the joint inheritance of Britain and America as not just a shared history but a shared belief in the great principles of freedom, and the rights of man – of what Barack Obama described in his election night speech as the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope," Brown said.
"And as America stands at its own dawn of hope – so let that hope be fulfilled through a pact with the wider world to lead and shape the 21st century as the first century of a truly global society."
He went on to speak a little about Darfur, Zimbabwe and Climate Change. But HOLY FREAKING GEEZ...! Does the above send a chill up your spine as it did mine? When can we expect the 'Hope and Change Gestapo' to start knocking down doors to confiscating our firearms and Bibles? Should we be expecting the Brown Shirt Brigade to be marching through Americas streets on inauguration day?
It truly does seem like the 'End Times,' doesn't it?

Handout's Bailout's ENTITLEMENTS For Everyone These Days
Doesn't the government just love to spend our money these days? It certainly seems that way, doesn't it? Not only did they go ahead with the big bailout, that the majority of Americans were against I might add. But they had tacked on about $150B in non-essential pork to get it passed. And now that there exists this big new honey-pot of "come and get it" funds, everyone striving for a piece of the action.
Case in point, the auto industry. Of which I'm sure elements in the government would love to get a piece (of control) of. That's a pretty big entity to move into the realm of socialism. Imagine trying to get a car loan once under the loving care of "big brother." And what kinds of cars we'll be stuck with. We've seen what happens when government interferes with housing, now we want to let them have a say in what we can drive? Just freaking fantastic! But yes, the Big-3 automakers are asking for a load of cash, as they have been spending their own out the wazoos. And they claim they will go under in "X" time frame if they don't get assistance. Pretty much the same lines the housing industry used to get the bailout in the first place. And most assuredly, they'll probably get it. The money that is. Got to keep those Union contributors happy.
And the handouts are flowing so readily, that companies are are now eagerly altering themselves from within to get on the socialistic bandwagon. Sure, take control of a portion of our company so we can continue to fatten our golden parachutes.
Another example, American Express. This isn't even a bank. They're a part of the credit industry. Or better described as, part of the reason why so many Americans have money problems these days. AMEX is now attempting to restructure itself to become a "holding company" to get in on the action. Wow, that's impressive. Going from being a part of the cause, to recipient overnight. Here's a novel idea AMEX since your NOT facing serious financial problems yet, like the housing and auto industry currently are. If you fail, you FAIL! Pretty much like what I've been saying since day one when this bailout issue arose. You fail, other entities that AREN'T failing buy up your assets. We move on.
But I suppose all this socialistic mindset were suffering from is too be expected. We've allowed socialism to creep into America over the last several decades, and our new president-elect capitalized on it. That even though you may not actually produce anything, your ENTITLED TO everything. Welcome to the burgeoning new industrial nation. The United SOCIALIST States Of America. The "land of the free home of the brave" seems to be going on vacation for a few years. If not longer.

Election 2008: California Proposition 8 Passes And The REAL Haters Emerge
Although, it really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone really. You pretty much had to figure that the moment California's Proposition 8 was passed, that the "alternative lifestyle" crowd would go bonkers. Already there are at least three lawsuits pending regarding the election outcome, challenging the result. Protests and other public dissent have ensued since the voice of Californians had been made clear....
Yet again, that is...
Oh yeah. For those who are completely oblivious to this back and forth, this is NOT the first time that Californians as a whole have said NO to same-sex marriage. Just a few years ago, back in 2000 to be more specific, Californians voted overwhelmingly (almost 62% in fact) for Proposition 22. Proposition 22 was a DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act,) which called for marriage to be specified as, and limited to, one woman and one man. Many other States also have such Acts in place. Sounds simple enough, doesn't it? Straightforward enough? Apparently not.
At least for some.........
Since California's courts are about as effective at upholding established law, as hunting for bear with an empty PEZ dispenser is, gay activists and the like have pushed for, and succeeded in overturning Prop. 22 in the California courts as being UN-Constitutional just a few months back. Many outlets warned them about moving forward with gay marriages, as it would be damaging should Proposition 8, which was already in the works, pass. But nope, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom declared that "Gay marriage is coming, whether you like it or not!" and commenced to convene over many unions there in the Bay city.
After collecting well over a million signatures, I believe it was about 1.2 million in total, Prop. 8 was moved forward to be placed on the ballot for the 2008 election. Prop. 8 was an actual State Constitutional AMENDMENT, which would define marriage as between one man and one woman. And once again, the people of California HAVE SPOKEN. By a smaller margin than last time, but still a respectable gap, 52% of California voters said NO to same sex marriage.
So, my question is this... WHAT FREAKING PART OF NO, does the gay rights crowd not understand?
Californians have been compassionate and understanding enough over the decades to open up to same sex civil unions, (which I might add, grant all the rights of marriage.) They've gone ahead and said yes to partners being covered under companies medical insurance policies. All the other rights and benefits that you've hooted, hollered, whined and attempted to intimidate for via legal actions, you've gotten. Even when it went against their better judgement, they said okay. But they have drawn the line at redefining marriage... TWICE! They have delivered an emphatic NO, to crossing into territory that they do not wish to see violated.
What has ensued in the last couple days since the final result has been declared, has been nothing short of embarrassing on the gay rights movements part. I'd equate it, pretty accurately I might add, as a "spoiled brats temper tantrum." And indeed very well deserving of a good switching.
So GET OVER IT!

Election 2008 Results: Obama Wins! Dem's Sweep! And America is Screwed!
Well, in a nutshell, that's pretty much how it looks. Obama took the White House with a big majority of electoral votes. By popular vote though, he only beat McCain by about 6 million votes. Dem's now have a pretty sizable lead in the Senate, although the super majority "60" continues to elude them. Thank Goodness for that. They also managed to pick up a massive lead in the House, equated to their size back in '94.
Congrats to them I suppose are in order.
So now what? Now, it appears that America's version of "The Great Experiment" has come to an end. We now enter the Global Great Experiment era now. Yeah, the United States is slowly but surely, imploding. Despite all that factors against Obama, such as his overwhelming lack of experience. Ties to both domestic terrorists and bigoted preachers that would prevent him from even being HIS OWN body guard in the Secret Service. A socialistic agenda to make everyone financially equal, whether they earned it or not. And openly calling for the bankrupting of major companies during an economic crisis.
Yeah, we're not looking to be stepping off on the right foot. It's gonna be a loooooong four years in my opinion. And for those psycho nut jobs out there that want to "take him out" so to speak, forget it. It's not worth the effort. Drop Obama and what are we stuck with? Biden. Yeah, that was a good idea. And "taking out" Biden as well wouldn't do any good either, as the next in line is Pelosi! (Ugh, I shudder to even think that.) Essentially, any assassin would have to go through half of the governmental leadership to finally arrive at anyone of worth. (Although, losing half our government wouldn't be a bad improvement....) But that's beside the point. So what can we expect to see over the next few years, should we survive that long that is? Well, Nostradamus I am not. But you don't need tea leaves, a crystal ball, or tarot cards to have a pretty general idea of what's to come.
One of the first few things I expect Obama to push, are some Bills/Acts. Obama doesn't like dissenters. So I expect Free Speech will be ONE OF the first items in his sights. The Dem's have been dying for the chance to re institute the Fairness Doctrine. Since they already have upwards of 80% of the media market in their pocket, being visual and print media, all they lack is talk radio. Well what do ya know... That's were the majority of the dissent was coming from. It's a safe bet, that "web" content wouldn't be off the table either.
Sweeping abortion restructuring. Obama's words to congregants at a Planned Genocide gathering were, "The first thing I'd do, is get FOCA passed." Sending that message to the demons of child butchery, was like ringing the dinner bell for a pack of hungry wolves. On a sarcastic aside, I wonder if there are any avowed cannibals working there at Planned Parenthood?
It's a pretty good assumption that the stock market will continue to fall. I'm gonna put my number on 6,000 for the final low. Not sure how soon, but it's my guess-timate. This is attributed to many factors, some of which I'll list below. But one point is the markets continual vote of "no confidence" in Obama. Every time he went up in the polls these last weeks, the DJI went down. When Obama lost ground, the DJI went up. Today is his first day as President Elect only, and it's down more than 350pts as of this writing. Not even fully in office, and already crashing the market. Job well done.
Stimulus Payments, we will see several more stimulus packages. Some will get through, some won't. I guess it just depends on how much pork is in them. But it's a sure thing, the $300B+ package being worked on now, will not be the last. Need to get the populace as a whole, used to those 1st and 15th payments. So they coincide with the universal health care, that many were duped into believing is a Constitutional right of some sort.
Gun control. There won't be any gun control. Obama hates all guns equally. We'll be lucky if we can defend our homes with bows and arrows after he's done. Sorry, even though it's a partisan organization, I trust the NRA on gun laws, a lot more than a Harvard Lawyer. Especially one that was a Senator from a State with one of the highest violent crime rates in the nation.
Unemployment.... ewww, yeah. That word. I'm guessing upwards of 8.5%. Maybe a little worse. Obama has openly stated that he will work to bankrupt the coal industry. Hmm. That's a pretty big industry. You sure you want to put that many people out of work during a financial slide? Might not be pretty Barry. And of course, if coal does go, it will affect a host of other sectors as well. I think I'll adjust my original guess. 9.5-10% rate. And with the $250K+ plan he slipped with to "Joe," you can forget about any pay raises for a while. Companies simply won't have the money to give.
And finally, taxes. Yes. Taxes, Taxes, Taxes. Obama wants to give 95% of the country a tax break, and slam the top 5% of wage earners. Interesting theory, except that upwards of 40% of the country DOESN'T EVEN PAY TAXES. So it's really the "wealth distribution" that Joe the Plumber got Obama to spill out in his non-teleprompter candid moment. Here's another thing to consider, if you truly happen to believe in this 95% tax break thing that is. Do you really believe, that the meager amount taken, from just the rich mind you, will be enough to not only hand out checks to everyone, but pay for that multi-hundreds of billions dollar health care plan of his? Good job, I knew you had at least some vestiges of brain function left. Nope, it won't be. And since he's already taxed the rich, well, gotta move down that income ladder a bit. I believe your starting to catch on now, aren't you.
But there is a glimmer of hope in all this. Believe it or not. With Dem's having mucho control of the government for the next four years, Americans will actually get to see, first hand, what the Democratic party is all about. And hopefully, that will be the proverbial "bitch slapping" the populace needs to say, "OOOOOH Hell no!" and abruptly correct it's mistakes of this this election. Hey, I did say it was a glimmer, didn't I?

Well, Tomorrow's The Fateful/Joyous Day: November 4th, Election 2008
And I cringe at the thought of one of the possible outcomes. If that dreaded result arises, America will make DOUBLE history. Not only will the first Black be elected President of the United States. That point of which, I have no problem with. But America will have elected (for some ungodly reason) a socialist, to it's highest position of authority. After having given a portion of my life to defending this country from without, from the likes of such vileness, it appears that very demon may defeat us from within.
God help us all if that happens.
But a portion of me still holds out hope, that there are still enough Americans in this country, who still have a portion of their mental facilities in tact, and will sound with one voice, "We won't let that happen! Not in our time!" Hopefully, my sacrifice, and the even more costly sacrifices of my fore bearers will not have been in vain. Either we will make little in the way of forward progress, or we step back in time, and face an oppression the likes not even East Berlin saw after WWII.
I can just picture, the twenty first century version of the Waffen-SS patrolling the streets, in the form of Obama's public security force. Brown Shirts, or Black Panthers, whatever they may be. Resplendent in Khaki uniforms pressing fliers of the messiah's upcoming changes, into the hands of the downtrodden populace passersby. A resurgence of the fairness doctrine. Confiscation of any firearm above black powder muzzle loaders. Huge increases in the size of Government. Giants leaps backwards in energy independence as any non-renewable energy source is shut down. And let us not forget all the wonderful NEW taxes we'll face, in the name of "fairness." The imagery is sickening. Fortunately, that's all speculation. Just conjecture based on Obama's own words and speeches.
There is but one hope, that Obama loses. The Rodney King style riots we'll potentially face for a couple months after an Obama loss, would be utterly insignificant. Otherwise, we're in for a REALLY long next four years, if he wins. A man can hope, can't he?

RAND: Sexual Content On T.V. Linked To Increase In Teen Pregnancy
I... Am.... Utterly.... Shocked.....! NOT! The RAND Corporation's new study links sexual content on television to the increase in teen pregnancies. Wow, never would have seen that one coming. OF COURSE IT'S LINKED! You'd have to be an idiot, or a liberal, to NOT see the connection. Glad to see the brains of the world are finally catching up to what the rest of us already knew. For an encore, I suppose it will be revealed that water, is in fact, wet.
If anything, I think the more surprising part of this story is, that it aired on CNN. Someones about to lose their job, me thinks. But sure enough it was on this morning, on this mornings Morning Express with Robin Meade. And the article is even being carried there on the CNN site. How weird is that? Bah! It must just be CNN trying to put on a balanced face. They must get tired of being called "the video version of the New York Times," so they have to shake it up a bit.
So here's the gist; The RAND Corp. conducted a study of around 2,000 adolescents ages 12 to 17 from 2001 to 2004. They put together a research group, looking over 23 various shows for any sexual content. They then asked those kids how often they viewed each of the reviewed programs. They then came up with a score based on the teens exposure to those shows. The overall report was narrowed down to about 700 of the participants, who were "getting it on" by the time the third survey had come around.
A few key points from the CNN article; "A central message from the study is that there needs to be more dialogue about sex in the media, particularly among parents and their children, said Anita Chandra, the study's lead author and a behavioral scientist at RAND." Yeah, like it's there, it's overwhelming to most of todays kids who are NOT mature enough for the content being shown them.
"We know that if a child is watching more than an hour of TV a day, we know there's a sexual scene in [the] content every 10 minutes, then they're getting a fair amount of sexual content," Chandra said. Hey, free love right? Isn't that what the left is all about? The normalization of the single mom? They, and Planned Genocide should be thrilled.
Even when accounting for other related factors such as demographics and risk-taking behaviors, the correlation between televised sexual content and teen pregnancy persisted, she said. The study also found that adolescents living in a two-parent household had a lower probability of pregnancy. Ya don't say? You hear that deadbeats dad's (and in some cases, mom's) of America? Get your a$$ in gear and own up to what you've contributed to.
Previous RAND research also showed that teens who watch a lot of television with sexual content are more likely to initiate intercourse the following year. I'm thinking the old adage, even if rather childish, of "monkey see, monkey do" fits well here.
The National Institutes of Health reported in July that teen pregnancies rose in the United States from 2005 to 2006 for the first time since 1991. Hmmm.. What year did Planned Genocide start handing out condoms in school?
Anyways, the CNN article has some good info on this topic. I recommend at least a skimming of their article.

7 Reasons Why Barack Obama Is Not A Christian: Video Series
And Nooooooo. I'm not going to drag up some overworked issue about "Obama is a muslim" or some such. So go wash the sand out and get past it. But I received this link today via e-mail, and found it rather interesting. It's a seven part video series hosted by Rev. Don Hamer of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. Each video is approximately two to three minutes in length. And each gives a short snippet of why, by Biblical standards, Barack Obama is not a Christian.
Whether you are for or against him, it's worth the few minutes to view the series, to get a better understanding of what his (Obama's) beliefs are. And how he's definitely trying to "play-up to" the various religious segments, whilst maintaining a worldly, self-promoting image. You can find the video series at the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission site. The videos are listed one through seven, down the left hand side of the page. There is also a news link, about the "7 Reasons" video series being covered by the AP and CNN. Although I don't consider Obama to be a muslim myself, (even though I have pondered the question early on,) I have my suspicions about the dogmatic practices he adheres to. Namely, the Black Liberational Theology.
For someone who's supposed to be a uniter, this is a practice, that he sat through for over twenty years from his mentor (before he threw him under the bus for his own political gains) Rev. Wright, that is divisive at best. If anything, this doctrine is something we can expect to see carry into his administration, regardless of whether he has "somewhat denounced" his affiliation to Rev. Wright's church. Sorry, but the lame excuses of not being present in church on the few times Rev. Wright spoke on such issues, just isn't flying with me.
The video series is short and to the point. Each one covering a specific issue, regarding Obama and his lack of adherence to a Christian principle that he lays claim to be a part of. The aspects of Abortion, One path to Heaven, Homosexuality and more are covered. And I'll throw out a warning here, there ARE some GRAPHIC images in the abortion segment, Segment #4. The "Introduction" page, linked above and HERE, gives a brief synopsis of the series as well, and includes a line I was glad to see. "Our concern is only spiritual and we pray for Barack Obama to repent and turn to Christ and His Word." That sounds a bit more like the unity I know. More so than the "clinging to god and guns," phrase Obama spouted.
So, pop on over to the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission website and have a look. It may present some revealing info to you, relevant to making any "lasting" decisions.
